  2. There's a difference between being wrong and making a joke. Your example statement is stupid because it's simply an invalid statement, whereas the Norman picture was clearly in the context of a joke. You continue to impress me with these blatant ironic statement. You are in no position to comment on anyone's sense of humor when you are offended by something that is clearly a joke. We all know Greg Norman is a legend, and we realize his accomplishments, but we also realize that sometimes, things can be said in jest. You, unfortunately, fail to realize this. I pity you. I can send you other links seeing as you still don't understand the concept of a joke.
  3. Eh, I beg to differ. I'm only 17 and in regionals my surgically repaired right leg was throbbing in agony while I was walking up the ninth fairway so I asked my coach if he could get me some type of painkiller, and being the gentleman that he is he got me a couple aspirin.
  4. My record times to the two courses I usually play are 47 seconds and 1 minute 9 seconds.
  5. I have a Samsung Glyde. It's neat.
  6. The irony in the this post is outstanding. Let me qualify that. First, you say that the Norman post was "the most ignorant post I have seen on these boards," which, in itself, is ridiculous because it's a joke. That might be a four letter word to you, but anyone with a sense of humor ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humour ) can laugh it off. You then go on to say this: Outrageous. Nothing infuriates me more on forums than when one user tells another to "get a life." You don't know this person. You have only read what they type on a message board. You have absolutely no right, whatsoever to judge him like that. None. Period. End of story. You, sir, should be ashamed of yourself. You have brought shame to your parents and yourself. Please think before you do things. [/mini-rant]
  7. No. Environmentalists should shut up about everything, but especially about golf.
  8. I should really start. One of my biggest problems is that I always set up to the left without noticing and then, sure enough, I stand on the tee box puzzled as to why my drive just sailed straight into the gunch on the left.
  9. I've actually been working on my punch shots A LOT lately because when you miss the fairway as much as I do, you don't have much of a choice other than punching under some branches now and then. I now have new found respect for Tiger's wrist and forearm strength because those stingers take a lot of that. My best 3-wood stinger goes as far right as it does out. I guess that's what separates me from the pros.
  10. This used to be a big problem for me as well, but it went away after one lesson. I was told to back off the ball and bend my hips a bit more. Then he told me that the first action of my downswing should be to more or less elbow myself in the side (if someone could put that into better words for me, that would be fantastic). That was the simple fix that I got.
  11. I do it all the time. I've found that a gripped-down half swing PW from about 100-110 is twice as accurate and consistent as a full 56.
  12. I don't even tee the ball up when I hit 3 wood off the tee. I just find it easier to hit down on the ball without a tee.
  13. Well played, sir, and I would be more upset if I was more of a Michigan fan rather than just an OSU hater. I'm a Michigan State fan myself, I just hate the Buckeyes a teeeeeny bit more than Michigan so I argue for UofM when the debate arises. Trust me, though, no one was happier about the Appalaichain State game than I was.
  14. HAHA, I like what you did there. You took "UM" like the abbreviation for University of Michigan and put "sc" in front of it so it looked like the word scum! HA! You're funny. But seriously, who's the all-time leader in D1 College football wins, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Oh, that's right, it's the same school that's currently number 25 in the U.S. News college rankings, whereas OSU sits silently at 57. Since you're an OSU fan, I'm assuming you're not very bright so let me put this as simply as I can: 25
  15. I think first one to get their hands on it is its new owner. This reminds me of my buddy, who is, without a doubt, the biggest ball scavenger on the planet. He will go into the marshy woods next to the course we usually play, armed with his 5-iron, for 3 or 4 minutes and come out with 10 "new" balls and mud drenched shoes. It's getting to a point where I'm contemplating buying climbing equipment for him because he usually needs me to pull him back up.
  16. On topic: I like playing with my friends more than by myself, because they can usually tell me what I'm doing wrong and calm me down when I get frustrated, and I like to do the same for them, but I do play by myself quite often because it gives me more freedom to practice from different yardages or take the same chip or putt 10 or 12 times. Off topic: Did this frustrating round you speak of take place at St. Clair Shores Country Club on Masonic near-ish to Gratiot?

    Pudge a Yankee

I feel like we could have gotten a little more than a B level relief pitcher for one of the greatest defensive catchers in the history of the game. Still, our bullpen needs as much help as it can get right now.

    God is crying!?

I'd better learn to like it if I'm going to be playing in some British Opens, right?
  19. In case you need a third person to tell you how out of line your post was, Rick, I got you, man. I'm not quite sure where you get off judging someone like that on an internet forum. Maybe you should set aside $60 a month and spend it on manners classes.[/sarcasm]
  20. Good point. Tiger's passion for the game and winning in general means he's worse than Nicklaus. I see where you're coming from. Tiger > Jack, no questions asked If tiger keeps up the pace he's on right now (he probably won't, but for comparative purposes) he will win 30 majors, but we'll give age some notice and say he'll only win 23 or 24. The man won the U.S. Open with a torn ACL and a broken leg. In closing: Tiger Slam. Enough said.
  21. I feel you, man. I'm going to the PGA Championship on the Friday, and I couldn't be more excited.
  22. I appreciate your opinion, but I stand by what I said. Firstly, the OP is an 18.6 handicap, not the type of player I would recommend going out and hitting flop shots all the time the way I hit them, which I still believe to be the proper way. I don't mean that to be offensive, but like you said, they are easy to skull, and require lots of practice, and with that practice, there's no reason the OP can't hit them. As far as playing the ball forward and cupping the wrist is concerned, he asked for the way to get MAXIMUM HEIGHT on his short shots, and the farther forward you play the ball, and the more you open the clubface by slightly cupping your wrist, the higher the ball will go. He didn't ask "how can I not skull every pitch shot I take." Had he asked that, I would've told him to play the ball in the center of his stance, but, again, he asked for the technique to get the ball as high as possible so I gave it to him. For the record I do agree that it's an easy way to skull it without proper practice.
  23. Short game. I'm getting up and down a lot more this year than last.
  24. Regardless of the car argument (thoughtful retort, by the way, you're a difficult man to deceive), the fact of the matter is that he, in no way, implied that Burberry makes $85 pants. He simply made that statement that the only way that pants would be worth $85 is if they were made by a respectable designer, and Burberry happened to be the name that was dropped. He did, though, react to your inference unfavorably.
  25. This reminds me, this may or may not want to be added to the golf company smilies:
