I've been happily married for over 26 years now to the BEST husband EVER!! I play in 2 leagues a week....may sign up for a 3rd if my commute home (1-1/2-2 hours) doesn't interfere. I also practice every chance I get. It never used to be that way as this is only the 5th year I've been golfing. When the girls were younger hubby was gone every weekend. I didn't like it but he always came straight home after golf to spend time with me and the girls and made sure he was around for all special occasions/holidays. 1-3 times per year he goes on golfing trips with his buddies. I don't mind so long as he's the one that rents the car and drives. He doesn't drink but the others do and have on some occasion, drink and drive. We are now empty nesters and he still golfs every weekends plus a league once/week....I tried it for two years and got tired of listening to another wife bitching for those two years every weekend so now I no longer golf on the weekends. Instead, I spend time with friends who enjoy golf as I do - to unwind. Hubby and I practice alot together which also helps my golf game. He's a 1 hc and offers me tips. Once a week we meet up with his good friend (single-also a 1 hc) and play 9 holes then go out for dinner. It's relaxing and I get to play golf at different courses around New England. Hubby and his buddy also compete in tournaments. I always encourage my hubby to enter in as many tournaments as he can/we can afford. I usually tag along for their practice rounds. If the course is public, I'll play the practice round with them. If its private, I tend the flag/read off course stats/etc. My hubby is very generous....for 3 Christmases in a row I got a package of private lessons. Celebrated my 50th birthday this month and received a new set of Taylormade R7 Irons and a new Burner Driver....last year I got a Kona Wood putter. I buy whatever I want in golf clothes and accessories and so does he so long as we can afford it. It's never too much golf - for the both of us! I have a very good marriage with a wonderful and talented husband and I cherish/nourish this as life is just too effing short!

Took a private lesson yesterday to correct my setup for my driver. He said I had all my weight on my forward leg and my hands were too far forward. Also said I was to far from the ball. Afterwards I worked on it and alternated with the distances of my stance (from the ball) as well as the tee height of the ball.

1/2 hour private lesson is $45. I've also gotten the package of 6 private lessons for $240.

I don't mind a drizzle with some downpour.......just don't like it when raw cold accompanies the rain!

Yes! I used to put just one, maybe two flowers. But the guys were picking it anyways. With flowers all over the ball, they take one look and back off.

Look at my avatar....

I have to wear a hat and a glove. If I don't have both of these on, I can't focus on hitting the ball.

WOW! That's totally awesome! *thumbs up* Gotta show these photos to the hubby....maybe it'll motivate him to get one for our backyard! L

Glad you enjoyed your meal! I love Korean food and banchan! I make Kalbi on a regular basis. And I love, love, love kim chee! We have a couple of Korean grocery stores local to me and I love shopping there.

Thanks for the link, I put my request in as well!

Woo hoo! We don't subscribe to HBO, but we got it! Uh huh! Hubby turned on the tv last night and came running to tell me that we have HBO! So we watched a little bit of the Inaugural concert!

Well, I don't subscribe to HBO.....maybe Golf Channel will pick up a snippet of his speech....

Playing golf with folks who constantly complain... just shuddap and golf! I haven't enjoyed golfing with a particular woman at our club for two seasons now. Every weekend I dreaded playing golf with her because of her constant complaining....really makes golf not fun. She complains about everything/one. Complains about the golf course, folks who work there, folks who golf there, women who she golfs with on the 18-hole golf league and even wives (who don't golf) of the men who golf there. She complains about women I enjoy golfing with which leads me to believe that she probably complains about me behind my back. I did talk to her about this matter in the calmest, nicest way and she's still a mad person to golf with so I stopped golfing with her altogether. The smartest thing I did at the beginning of last season was to join two other ladies golf leagues at other courses. It was the best thing for me and my game and I made some new friends who share the same view of golf as I do!

I wear my wedding rings while golfing....like to wear my bracelets too. I try not to as when they hit one another they make a clanking noise. It doesn't bother me, but may bother others in my group. Also, depends who I play with....some folks don't mind as the clanking doesn't bother them. Others will just use the clanking noise as an excuse for playing poorly.
-
Agree there! There's this one woman I can't stand to play with....always blaming everything/one for her poor shots/putts.....you stood in my shadow...he yelled right in the middle of my putting stroke...I heard those geese take-off and I lost my focus...and on and on...geeeezz...I refer to her as a "f- head case".

When I set up, I make sure that my weight is on my right inside foot and more towards the balls of my feet. Nice straight back without no shoulders hunched. And right before I swing I tell myself to swing with a slow, good rhythm and keep my left elbow straight. So many times if I don't tell myself to keep my left elbow straight throughout the swing, I always end up "chunking" the ball!

immts007, the Maui Banyan room we stayed at was in bldg "T" and room 301/301A. Yes, I think its the upper pool. I really love the place, the room(s) were perfect although we weren't there long enough to use all the amenities. I think next time I travel to Maui I would love to stay in Wailuku....close to the Waiehu course....man, I love that course! Out of all the courses I've golfed at, that's gotta be the 'funniest' course! Please, please post a trip report and photos when you do go to Maui! I miss is so much already!
