  1. Ha ha. What you going to eat when he's sitting at home after a missed cut?
  2. Don't forget, there are a lot of good scores being shot. That makes his 85 even worse. I wonder what he will shoot in the US Open playing like thiS? I'm not so sure I wouldn't w/d from that tournament playing like this.
  3. After looking at that video, I do too.
  4. I want outrageous speed with a Callaway XR driver! Jim Furyk -2 J.B. Holmes -2 Ryan Moore -2
  5. Unless you totally implode on the greens you miss, 7 of 9 greens should be par to +2. Work on that short game as Michael Breed suggest. ;)
  6. Twenty at best. He says he has a degenerative condition in his spine and that is one reason for his muscle building. Even so, odds are he will have back problems down the road.
  7. I don't get the Golf Channel at this house so won't be watching Wentworth. I can pick it up on Sky sports over the internet but the quality is less than good. Plus I usually play golf in the morning anyway.
  8. More consistent today. Only one birdie but shot 76. Made several par saving putts. Cut down an old Odyssey 2 ball belly putter and made it standard length and put a Super Stroke grip on. Putts like a charm.
  9. Practice? I do very little at this point in my life. I stroke a few warm up putts before my round and that's about it. During the winter I hit some range balls as I do not like cold weather golf. Just a fast way to get some reps. I'm a geezer, cold weather is a a no go for me.
  10. Shot an 80 with a lot of bad and good. Scored a 46 on the front and 34 on the back. I was +5 after 2 holes and couldn't make a putt the whole side. The backside totally different with 3 birdies and one bogey. Made almost every putt on the side. At least I finished with a good taste in my mouth.
  11. Agree. The caddy should have zero to say in the matter. There is a rules official and Keegan to do the talking. And I also agree that its possible MAJ just didn't come up with the right choice of words due to his limited English vocabulary. But for whatever the reasons..........they both parties come off looking like jerks.
  12. He's probably listening to some old Lawerence Welk big band music.
  13. That's the only reason I will watch Tiger play. Yes.....Tiger truly is the needle! :)
  14. With Tiger's commitment to play the Masters comes even more pressure for him to perform well now. He has always said he does not enter a tourney just to be there, he is there to win. If he falls on his face after all the practice he has put in at home, odds of retirement greatly increase. If he does show a lot of improvement and has a respectable finish I think he will keep on plugging away. This is a very important week for him and his future imo. Probably just stating the obvious............
  15. I'll have to practice up using my mute button. TGC will be unwatchable.
  16. I'll believe the improvement when I see it. Won't be long now if he truly plays. The practice rounds will give a hint of what to expect. Can't wait to see the event, my favorite tournament of the year.
  17. Shot a +1 73 today. Best round in several months even though it was from the geezer tees. But hey.....I'm a geezer.
  18. When I was growing up all I ever heard was 'the British Open'. So that is how I refer to it today. But if I were in Scotland going to see the championship, you can bet I would refer to it as 'The Open'. As they say......when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
  19. I don't see how anyone can predict when he will be back. No one knows how his game is really coming along. Skipping Arnold's tourney is not a good sign to me.
  20. It's been raining off and on for the last 2 weeks. I have managed to squeeze in four 9 hole rounds, but it has been sloppy. Light rain at this very moment. But sunny weather starting Sunday. Going to take a few days to dry out though.
  21. after a 30+ year hiatus. I have no connection to WVU but do have one with their new golf coach Sean Covich. Sean grew up on my home course in MS as his dad was the head pro at my club. I took several lessons from his dad. I remember Sean being a very polite kid and was well liked by everyone. Just wanted to post this here as I am very happy for Sean and wish him the very best. I know his parents are proud of him. http://www.wvusports.com/page.cfm?story=25817
  22. I guess what I remember seeing on tv was concerning crocs and the speed was apparently in km/h. Oh well..... http://www.factzoo.com/reptiles/nile-crocodile-smile-top-predator.html Despite their normal method of slowly crawling to transport themselves, nile crocodiles can "gallop" at up to 7.5 to 8.5 mph (12 to 14km/h) and can swim even faster, reaching speeds of 18 to 22 mph (30 to 35 km/h).
  23. My goal is simple and will be easy to achieve. That is to play more rounds than I did in 2014. Last spring I bought a vacation condo on the AL coast and reduced my membership in MS to a limited round package. My thinking.....I would be spending 1/2 my time on the coast and wouldn't play as much at home. Bottom line, I didn't play as much on the coast as I got involved in other things like bike riding, boating etc... I probably played a total of 45 rounds all year. This year I plan to spend roughly 1/3 of my time there and more in MS. I rejoined my home course and plan to play a lot when home. Should double my rounds over last year. Looking forward to playing more golf.
  24. If you ever stumble on one, don't assume they all move as slow as this one. I have read they can move up to 35mph.
