  1. All they need to learn is how to say "FORE" in english proficiently . That's it. Because as soon as this non english-proficient athletes started to be proficient, they would start learning to talk smack (American style) now our native-speakers (american ladies) on the LPGA tour that clearly has inferior skills than the Ochoa's and Kim's , Yung or whatevah.... are now going to be pushed further down the sidelines. Common' I think this is a bad Idea. I mean, Gulbis atleast can say she is better at something against Ochoa. Plus it is pretty much easy to understand what those non-speakers are saying all the time anyway after their victories. "I practice hard thats why I beat all wannabes, they try but they are failures." thats not to hard to understand. LOL
  2. I want to vote for paula but I can never get past her eyebrows. Between the two if I have to pick one(forceibly) I guess I would go Natalie. But , Bri Vega has to be the hottest eye candy in the lady's tour if I would pick trully.
  3. We all have some thing that ticks us off psycologically. I remember playing with an older gentleman once who absolutley cant stand plaided shorts. He said , he always thinks its so disgusting. I never understood why, until I took psychology classes.... and its actually so normal. But like many said , I am too bothered by some who plays in jeans and printed t-shirts with no collar. I hate to sound so elitist ...but it just so distasteful to look at.
  4. Of course not. I would hate to go and play my favorite activity and know that everytime I do it the end result would always be par. Even if I start breaking the 70's it would not hurt to sometime shoot a humble-ing score like maybe a high 90's to even a 100, why? because if that happens it would give me a reason to get back to where I believe my average was. That is something for me to work on. If I shoot par all the time and knows that everytime I go out its going to be the same, it would be boring and I would just go paint my fense and watch it dry.
  5. I like any golf polos that are DRY-FIt or similar to it. I own about 30-40 pieces of Nike Dri-Fit shirts mostly stripes some solids. as for colors I like regular colors such as dark blues, Black, greys etc not so much of the purples or the electric pinks and aquas. For my trousers I like those golf pants adidas makes they are light and sweat wicking, but I also own a pair of plaided knickers (red and gold) and a wing-tip style shoes I picked up in Ireland 2 yeras ago. It is still in plastic because I haven't yet have the courage to wear them. lol
  6. US Open for me and here is the reason why: I like watching the pro's trying to get in trouble either from the exeptionaly tall rough grass or trying to get in the green in two from a fairway bunker and landing it short only to see their shot roll on the water or a no man's land ravine. Another thing is the green's at a the US Open courses are so fast turns them(Pro Golfers) to a mere mortal at times. I love it !
  7. I agree with Lemay427' Roger Federer is awsome and what he did for his sports is undeniable, but you cannot possibly say that what he did for tennis is more than what Tiger did for golf. I dont see or hear many kids saying "when I grew up I want to be Roger Federer". Where I play there is a clay tennis courts and I would here kids always trying to emmulate Nadal or Patrick Rafter , sometimes I would still here some that still likes Andre Aggasi and Pete Samparas, in the golf course its different' everyone wants to drive the ball like Tiger, even though he is not the best in that department, many tries to copy that Tiger putting that is so clutch and lastly roger never won the "French Open" Tiger won all four majors of his sports.
  8. I play in many golf courses around where I live, but in the two courses I call home (own memberships) they are pretty good in keeping the pace resonable. Though in one golf course in miami people are sometimes playing 2-3 balls and some "Walkers" cuts in and jumps from hole to hole. Complaining to the marshalls are useless as they would never leave the confort of the shade under a tree. totally useless.
  9. The strongest wind I ever encountered while playing happened about 3 years ago. I was playing with my friend who was visiting me from europe. We played at the Crandon Park G.C. (The Links at Key Biscayne) down in Miami. It was October in the middle of hurricane season, and luck us, we did'nt get disappointed as Hurricane Wilma is about to blow into town. All I remember is I hit a driver straight with about a normal flight path and landed less than a hundred yards in the middle of the fairway. In one of the Par 3's my buddy John aimed almost 40 degrees left of the gren and still landed way over to the right of his target. The condition was so awful that the balls that we landed on the green moves about 8-10 feet by the time we are ready to putt it. The only good thing about the whole experince is that no other faithfuls loiter around the course, making our round fast.
  10. Get a SPIN DOCTOR RI wedge.... use the reverse grove (practice) face. Hit the ball as hard as you can and watch the ball draw back, but only use this when you're practicing by yourself. It's a fun shot but the wedge is not USGA approve I believe, but in the name of fun... swing on.
  11. Not only is he going to be a bad teaching pro...it's apparent he cant count either. bad, bad, bad.... combo. I would hate to go pay a teaching pro, and him telling me that that my iron distances are ...oh "Maybe" its about 3** yards or well that's "kinna" good swing.
  12. LW - 90 SW - 100+ GW - 120+ PW - 130 9 - 140 8 - 150 7 - 165 6 - 170+ 5 - 180+ 4 - 190+ 3 - 230+ Irons max swing distance
  13. Only thing to fix your problem is lots of practice. If your local golf range has sand practice area spend about half of the time practicing the sand game before you even hit the reange. I was once just like you....every peice of advice I got from people trying to help me got me further from the truth. The head pro of the local muni where I use to paly gave me the best advise in my opinion; he just told me to go get a whole bucket of ball and drop them all on the practice sand, I did that for about a month (maybe twice a week) and by the end of second month I gained confidence playing off the bunkers, I also developed my own style because of that. Now I dont sweat it anymore when I go to the bunkers. So the key is Lottsa lottsa Practice....
  14. Sirloin Burger from Le Tub Voted #1 Burger in America by GQ magazine. The only drawback is that the place is always crowded now. Hmmm mmm or Wendy's Spicy Baconator works for me as well....
  15. Depending on the situation but if I am around the green no hazzard between me and the gereen I would bump and run it. Inside the 30's I would use my 8 iron and the farther the lower the number iron. If I have to fly it over a bunker the weapon of choice is the LW slightly open. If beyond the 30's I would use a PW or 56 wedge and quarter swing chop stop behind the ball shot ( i dunno whats the proper name for the shot).
  16. Ok, Buddy from the middle of ......, since you ask nicely, the guy's name is G. Dunn he works for Nike on the tour van. (one that goes from events to events for the tour) I would bet he worked plenty with most of tour players that are currently under the brand and more than likely his info's are more reliable about this particular subject; so my vote is on him.
  17. Gracias mi fellow Floridian, I will diffinetly email you if ever I would head up there. Goodluck...
  18. Hello everyone.... fellow golf addicts Im Ed , lives in the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale area of the South Fla. Hopefully I get to meet other people here in my area to play a round or two..... or wvwn three. Goodluck to everyone and keep hittin' it straight.
  19. I did one about 6 years ago, in an community golf course in north miami called the california club. It was a par four 334 yards. The condition was clear with a breez blowing from my back. Hit my driver (callaway hawkeye vft 9 degrees) and I landed on the right side green and roll off the back. I shot maybe 100+ that day but none of the score matters as my playing partners all talked about it after the round. Awsome day.... lol

    TW Gear

Like some here , I also own a couple of TW hat . One black with the swoosh in the front and the TW in the back. The other is the white cap with his logo infront ...it;s the most comfortable hat I ever owned , plus the material is really light. I got both of them from eBaY and got a good deal for them. The shirts I can care less ... not a very big fan of nike golf tee's specially the TW series. The clubs foghetabouteht.... I dont like how the driver sounds and the irons are just ok. Now, TW shoes I like.... they are nice.
  21. here's mine: I love both of them Grande Oaks Golf Club (Davie, Fla) Home of Caddy Shack http://www.grandeoaks.com/ Club at Emerald Hills (Hollywood, Fla) http://www.theclubatemeraldhills.com/
  22. What a F'ing Jerk ! (excuse my french) But if I were you I would diffinetly call the general manager and then the head pro. That assistant pro clearly is trying to pocket that green fee you handed him, reason why he wont give you the reciept. I worked on a Country Club once and one of the assistant pro and a starter was in to the same scam. I would not have a problem with that but them dropping F' bombs on a paying costumer is a big no! no! Where I come from that is a clear indication of "agressive attack" and clearly needed a swift retaliatory response. Yha, but that was just me.....
  23. I too prays that he goes back to his old self or at least almost his old self because if he does, I see a new number 2. DD was the coolest guy I saw on tour, with regards to him handling emotions and I like his attitude too that he is fast to forget the last shot good or bad, he is always focus on the shot at hand; the only other player that has same attitude is El Tigre.
  24. I dont think it is ever possible to buy a club in exact specifications as Tiger's. Fisrt, the clubs pro's uses on tour are grinded, bended, ported, treated to thermo bonding etc... so for us mortals to get a hand on the equipments the pro's uses are slim to never. To get our clubs treated to the same exact service they get would cost arm and a leg. Tigers clubs are built exclusively for him. I heard about the same rumors that the clubs he uses regularly are miura forged but I have a very reliable source that told me that they are actually real nikes that are prototype meaning that those clubs are not for sale to the public. Reason why many mistaken it for muira forgeds is because it is designed to almost look like the muira's (Tiger's choice). Nike does everything Tiger ask them to do for him, may it be his equipments or any personal request. From what I was told Tiger treats nike as his own personal genie... only thing different with their relationship is that Tiger has more than 3 wishes on this genie. See, the genie owes Tiger its powers now, just like once before when the very same genie owes a certain basketball player that wears #23.

    Golf at Work

Love this game. Me and my boss use to pretend we were hard at work , while in reality its computer golf tournament every 10 am inside his office. I love working for cool people that loves golf as much as I do; unfortunetly for me I have to move to another state and have to quit that awsome job, now I'm stuck in limbo(new job) with people who loves to talk about sports but never actually participate in it.
