  1. That is a pretty blanket statement also. I am sure that you have a scale to measure the swing weight after the alteration or is that under the blanket too. In my shop I have altered the length of hundreds of clubs and measured the change in frequency. 3 swing weight points for a half inch for an accomplished player is a lot.
  2. played with a older but a good player today/ He loves the pinnacle ball. It would not be my choice. He hit the middle of every fairway. His ball hit the green on every par 3. The greens were crusty and the pinnacle just rolled out. I played a Pro V and shot 81. He couldn't make a decent chip and had a short - long putting day and shot 90. I swear if he was using a Pro V, he would have beaten me soundly,
  3. A shorter driver shaft will be a bit stiffer and 6-8 swing weights lighter. Will be more difficult to load the shaft for impact. But if you hit the fairway three times more often, remember straight is long.
  4. I align with a selected spot in front of ball. I put the club behind the ball in line with the spot. from this point I never look up at the target. My intent is to move the head through the ball as if it was a smoke cloud and in line with my spot. works for me and gets me away from the :hit: mentality and into the swing mentality.
  5. I don't think so.
  6. Not all but a lot putts pushed to the right are due to head motion while eyes are following the ball. If you miss putts you must first decide whether your ball rolled on the intended line. If You putt where you want the ball to go and miss the putt then it is a reading problem. Some get fooled because they putt the ball and it goes in the hole but not on the intended line. Seldom do you hear someone say that they made a putt solely by accident.
  7. I don't believe that you were teaching. You are PGA, a person giving assistance. You are trying to make sure that your friend will have some fun and will not hurt himself or anyone else at the driving range.
  8. I have to agree with this post
  9. I just saw a presentation of how poorly workers are paid at Nike Sweat Shops in Indonesia. This is especially bothersome when one thinks of how much Tiger Woods is paid by Nike. I couldn't buy anything by Nike while knowing of the treatment of impoverished people in second world countries. Is this type of treatment found in other manufacturers?
  10. Have been to two demo days and at both I went to the Mizuno irons first and the Taylormade Woods. Never went to Nike or Callaway and I really don't know why. What would be your first preference and your last?
  11. Fred couples and a few on regular tour are wearing a golf shoe with a white sole that seems more like a sneaker type of stead of the traditional spikes. I cannot find anything in shops that resemble this. Am wondering what it is and if it is as comfortable as it appears.
  12. I'll defend your right to not have a gun and you can defend my right to have a gun
  13. heads may be stainless steel. shafts are chrome over steel. the chromium does not rust. if the chrome can be scraped away from under the rust then reshaft your heads. if the rust can be rubbed off and the chrome is intact then something in your bag is rusting and staining the shafts.
  14. 2 suggestions 1. something in your bag is rusting and staining the shafts from the outside 2. the rust may be coming from the inside of the shaft through the chrome. If you can scrape off any chrome with your finger nail to reveal the rust then you may have to have clubs reshafted as they will start breaking
  15. Bobby Locke hooked all of his puts. Supposedly he was among the best of putters. BUT I don't know if hooking and slicing putts will work with the huge putter heads of today as opposed to the blade putters of the past.
  16. with the driver hit the back of the ball on the upswing. with irons hit down on the ball compressing it into the turf. too many slicers hit down on their drives putting side spin on the ball.
  17. When I hit a hard hook it is due to what I call " chicken winging " the right elbow extends from riding along the chest and extends. This closes down the face and changes the path of the swing and the ball goes left and lefter.
  18. I have the video. The testimonials are longer than the teaching. The Little Pro keeps it simple and his stuff tends to work. I like it. I was initiated with the left hand and arm pulling but following surgery that cannot happen any more. Swinging the handle works for me.
  19. Mizuno makes quality and you'll find this equipment in a lot of staff bags with other logos on the bag.
  20. At the state park by the lake there was an exhibit of 1000 full size flags in the shape of a rectangle. Each flag could be purchased and the proceeds went to disabled vets. Lighted with construction site lighting, the exhibit was open 24 hours each day for the weekend.
  21. You didn't say that you had fluid build up in the knee. Usually fluid indicates a tear or severe strain. Surgery is the reward for all athletes sooner of later and then arthritis.
  22. load the left heel ( if you are right handed) move ball back and hit with a decending blow compressing the ball into the turf with the club face instead of trying to pick the ball off the turf
  23. The report that I read suggested a 5 yard loss for 3-4 piece balls. Probably due to additional weight but 2 piece balls went further after a soaking in water. I am superstitious. I feel that a lost or submerged ball is cursed and the same fate will happen to me at a most inconvenient time.
  24. That dent would drive me nuts. Call Taylormade and explain. They may work out a deal with you to replace the head for a fraction of the cost for a new driver.
  25. Ask: Do you teach a swing or do you tweak my swing? If you are a true beginner, you might want a teacher who will teach you a particular swing. If you have been playing, you need someone who makes adjustments to what you already have.
