  1. I started playing last July and started taking the game seriously around January of this year. I think I was a 24 when I bought my G10 irons right after New Years...now that I'm where I'm at, the strokes aren't flying off anymore and I'm having to pick apart my swing. I'm also looking to upgrade my irons since the distance control I need just isn't there and I feel like I'm chipping with a shovel sometimes. I'm currently drooling over some Mizunos. Anyone want to buy some G10 irons?
  2. UGA's course is hosting a Nationwide event at the end of April next year so I'm sure I'll get a round in on it. I'm already looking forward to it.
  3. http://www.ironfinder.com/ They had one for $60.
  4. I think I'd settle for tee boxes I could get a tee into right now. My home course is like concrete, I actually sliced my finger open last week when a tee broke with me trying to shove it in the ground.
  5. This happens to me a lot more when I'm walking than any other time. People always say stuff like "oh we'll keep ahead of you, don't worry!". Then they usually hack up the course while I stand over my ball and glare at the back of their head for five minutes...rinse and repeat. Earlier today I played one of the nicer courses in the area and caught up to a sixsome that told me that I couldn't go through them because I was a single and I had no standing on the course. Normally I'm not very confrontational but after watching a hundred practice swings and seeing those idiots pick up my ball for the second time I felt like giving one of them a colon cleansing with my spikes. I skipped ahead of them after calling the pro shop.
  6. Send us In-N-Out and you can have Waffle House.
  7. I usually buy 10 dozen AAA quality, that's how I get them so cheap. I've bought AAAA before but I honestly don't see the point. AAA is very usable. I don't have a problem playing them on the course at all. Out of the ten dozen I toss maybe 10 into the practice bag as unusable and I won't use balls stamped as practice. That still leaves me over a hundred balls for $80 with free shipping. You get a few logo balls but that doesn't affect how they play, and it's pretty neat to see all the stuff that gets stamped on a golf ball.
  8. If you guys have a Mac there's a widget that will let you track packages and it alerts you whenever the status changes. It's pretty cool. http://junecloud.com/software/mac/delivery-status.html
  9. My Yes! putter is 34" measured from the top of the grip to the ground.
  10. I game the G10 irons and the only thing I really dislike about them is the huge sole on the short irons. I feel like I'm chipping with a shovel sometimes. They're not the most workable irons but that's the price you pay. I've shaved a ton of strokes off my handicap since I bought them in January...I was around a 23 when I got them. I've promised myself that I won't take them out of the bag until I'm under a 5.
  11. Or you could buy ten dozen and get free shipping :)
  12. I buy Pro V1's off lostgolfballs.com...I'd honestly never pay retail for them, but when I can get them for $0.67 a piece, there's no reason not to.
  13. I don't know if this is an old gag or something but I've never heard of it, so it goes under new (and painful) to me. My buddies always give me hell about what a bad putter I am so when we were on the first green earlier today one of them told me to hang on and that he had got me a new ball marker. He handed me a coin and it had "Saint Jude" written on the front and had his picture on it...then on the back it had a prayer and the words "Patron Saint of Lost Causes"
  14. I'm in college so I definitely know where you're coming from. It happens. I was in a local gun shop trying to buy a carry gun and when I asked to look at something the guy behind the counter said something like "are you gonna look or buy? I don't need you wasting my time with this crap" so I just thanked him and left. I like to support local businesses and all but when I can buy stuff online for a significant discount they better play nice.
  15. Leaving the cell phone in the car!
  16. I would definitely go with AAA quality. AA really isn't something you'd wanna take to the course, but AAA is really impressive. I just bought 10 dozen Pro V1's from them earlier today, and I've never had a problem playing anything other than AA quality.
  17. I use Off but I then have to deal with the headache that the smell brings. That's the price you pay, I guess.
  18. It doesn't matter to me if I go to the range or not, but I have to hit the putting green. Chipping, putting, and stretching is usually all the warmup I go for.
  19. I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens again go talk to some of the management and tell them that you don't have to spend money there ever again...and neither does your large group of friends...
  20. I bought a new pair of Dockers golf pants off eBay a while back for $10.
  21. I usually do with the driver because I have a tendency to have my hands too high. Not with any other club, though.
  22. Looks like it. Doesn't look like 907 D2's are that much more than the 905r's right now.
  23. They're getting harder to find I've been keeping an eye out for one ever since I hit a friend's. I'm bidding for one on eBay right now.
  24. I'm not much for early morning golf (or anything else, really), but the several times I've had tee times around 8am it's been faintly reminiscent of a nursing home.
  25. Baseball is getting very interesting too.
