  1. I'll give this broadcast credit for one thing. It's convinced me that I never, ever, want to play Chambers Bay. I don't know how courses like CB can survive as public facilities. Too long, too hard and too expensive. That's a recipe for failure. cubdog
  2. I had a feeling this was going to be bad. Little did I know. Bad camera work, bad commentary, bad graphics etc. I guess it could be worse. Fox could have inked a long term deal. Oh wait, they did! The good news is, by the time the FOX contract runs out I'll be so old I'll likely be blind and deaf. cubdog
  3. Paula Creamer would like to play an event at Augusta National. Seems like a simple and reasonable desire from a professional golfer. And yet it gets a comment or reaction or whatever the above is. Personally I'm glad my wife doesn't hang out around here. I'm pretty sure what her opinion might be.
  4. Being a fan of golf, which includes the LPGA, I'd love to see it. I understand it will never happen. It's obvious that most male members here believe it's a horrible idea. I can't say I agree with the arguments against the idea although I understand most of them. What do the female SandTrappers think of the idea?
  5. That is strange concerning Kelly who has the reputation of being one of the nicest guys on tour. Guess everyone has a bad day once in a while.
  6. Everyone has a temperament. Even Jason.
  7. Honestly I thought that's what you meant. But I always seem to misinterpret those Canadian winks. Must be the accent.
  8. I'm not following what I'm supposed to check? I'm not questioning the metal toughness of either golfer but Rory has already proven his toughness in three majors. I have no doubt Jordon will do so as well either this weekend or in the very near future. I'll draw the line however at saying he is infinitely tougher than McIlroy as that has yet to be proven by any measure.
  9. Last I checked Rory has won three Majors. Spieth is "infinitely tougher between the ears" than Rory. Interesting.
  10. I wish the, "powers that be", at Augusta would get over themselves. It makes no sense that, arguably, the most popular golf tournament in the world has restrictions on televised coverage. We get it. The Masters is special. We can't all be patrons for every round, every year. The elitist nature of this tournament is beginning to take away from my enjoyment of the golf.
  11. 22 pages of speculation about a couple none of us know. I wonder what they would say if they read this thread? I'll simply say that I wish the best to both Jason and Amanda.
  12. I'm not a fan. Never have been. Let's just say I have philosophical issues with him.
  13. DeadMan failed to mention that Denver is a mile high. Thin air, balls travel at least 10 per cent farther. I know, I lived and played golf in Denver for 23 years. I used to have one eagle most every year out there. I've yet to have one at sea level.
  14. If there are good viable options to reach the green in regulation I'm ok with certain oddities. Sometimes because of bad course architecture, we can be left with poor, possible unfair, options. I guess it all boils down to good architecture vs. bad. I hate gimmicks for the sake being unusual.
  15. The Tee It Forward distances seem very short to me. Especially for some women. At first that is. My wife, for example, only hits her driver about 140 yard although she is improving. Still not too bad given that she is 62. According to TIF she should play from around 3400 yards. Our forward tees are at 5000 yards and of course she has no chance of reaching most holes in regulation. Even the x28 figure would be right around 3900. I'm going to discuss this with her and see what she thinks. I think I'll run some numbers by our pro as well. I know they're trying to increase the number of ladies that play so this might be of interest to him.
  16. I usually try to play from the tees that will allow me to have a reasonable chance at reaching all holes in regulation. While this sounds good in theory it doesn't always work out that way. A lot depends on my back condition on any given day. My home course has three sets of tees where I play the middle white tees that measure just under 6200 yards. On an average day I hit my driver anywhere between 200 and 250 yards.
  17. Yeah I heard that he's won a time or two. So why does he work on his head position of he's satisfied with it?
  18. He is. I own a couple of Seemore putters including Zack's model. Very nice putters. I will say, in my experience, with the FGP if for whatever reason you're not making contact directly on the sweet spot it becomes difficult to control distance. That's why I think it might be a wind issue. Did you notice what he used today?
  19. I'm surprised some of you guys never seem to lose a ball. I should say I'm impressed because I am. My home course has a reputation for being hard on golfers who are directionally challenged. Virtually every hole holds the potential for a lost ball. It's a fun course with a variety of interesting holes but you better be a straight hitter.
  20. I was shocked to see that Zack Johnson was using a new putter. He has used a Seemore FGP model for years. In fact I can't remember him ever putting with anything else. I tried to get a look at what he was using yesterday but couldn't tell. I don't know if the wind had anything to do with the change or if it was for other reasons. Does anyone know what's up with the change?
  21. Tiger needs to watch her head position.
  22. Beautiful course. It looks like it would be a good walk. Can't wait for the USO.
  23. I don't use them. I'd just loose them anyway. I do use a putter cover with certain putters. I don't hear anyone objecting to that. Well, I haven't read the entire thread so maybe I missed it.
  24. I had a long response ready to post but in the end decided Ferguson is not worth anymore of my time or effort. Anyone who would label Ernie Els, let alone Casey Martin, a cheat is a troll of the worst kind. I'm done feeding him. I hope he just goes away.
  25. I don't blame Ryan and I suspect what he wrote is the truth. I said in a different thread that I'm hopeful that Reed has changed. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he does something to change my mind.
