I think Tiger should DQ himself, too much controversy afterward even if he wins and other players would be very unhappy that Tiger has different treatment than them. Bad decision by the committee, as I said I think they made that decision because of money
-
Would be a DQ if it wasn't Tiger, too much money at stake

Francesco Molinari 280 Ben Curtis 281 Bryce Molder 281

Right now I would bet on Luke Donald. He might not win a lot, but he is very consistent and I think he will rack up a bunch of Top 10s to remain #1 in the world.

Just joined, team name is Birdie Machine - Hawaii. Happy New Year and looking forward to the new season.

I don't know, I think Tiger is struggling mentally and it affects his game a lot more than anything else. Before the scandal, everything was almost perfect for him. He is just not confident and not a happy person right now. He needs to get over it to be competitive again.

Not a done deal yet. It wouldn't be too surprising if he shoots 3 or 4 over pars tomorrow, then his lead could become much smaller. Anyway, amazing performances from Rory so far.

It is just not fair to compare the current number one player of the future number one player with Tiger. It is so hard to dominate in golf and that's why Tiger is so special. Before last year, Tiger was the heavy favor to win any tournament or major. Now with Tiger is still trying to find his form, all of the majors are wide open and nobody is going to be the heavy favor to win. I think Martin Kaymer is one of the best players in the world, but don't expect him to be nearly as consistent Tiger was. I think a lot of players could replace Kaymer in the near future if they play well rest of the season. Luke Donald is playing well, Phil could get hot any time, Tiger is playing better and could get back to number one very quickly, and McDowell is capable of beating anyone.

Not yet in my opinion, but I think he is improving and eventually he will win again. Right now he is just not able to put everything together. When he swings well, he doesn't putt well enough. His short game isn't as good as he used to be when he misses the greens. As of now he makes too many bogeys when he is in trouble instead of saving pars like he did in the past. He is also not hitting his shots too well from the bunkers right now. I think he is getting closer to win again, but it will take some more time in my opinion.

I am going with Nick Watney. He is playing good golf this year.

I wouldn't say Tiger is done. He is going through a lot of issues this season. If I have to bet now, I would say he is going to have a winless season because there aren't too many tournaments left to play. I think he will bounce back next season.

Congrats to Graeme McDowell. He was very steady and was the only one who shot even par, everybody else shot shot over par, so I think he has won it rather than others handed it to him. If you said that Ernie, Phil, or Tiger handed the championship to McDowell, then what about Gregory Havret? Ernie, Phil, and Tiger didn't even shoot a better score than Havret. It would be nice to see Ernie, Phil, or Tiger winning, but it is also nice to see a new major winner. I think McDowell deserves more credit from Johnny Miller. Harvet was pretty impressive, he didn't really do anything too exciting, but he was steady all along and didn't make too many mistakes. As for others, nice to see Ernie playing well again in the major. Before this season, people were even questioning whether Ernie would win again on the Tour, let along the major. Tiger is coming around, but he isn't sharp enough to win yet. Tiger is just like another good player out there at the moment, not really better than others like he used to be. Phil just didn't putt well enough. Not sure if Phil will ever win the US Open, he is a little too wild and inconsistent to win one in my opinion. Who knows though, I hope Phil will win one before he retires. Dustin Johnson probably will get over it. He is only 25 and has a long career ahead of him. To win a major, he needs to improve his scrambling, and not to miss some short putts. A lot of guys don't win their first major until they reach 30 or older. He learned his lesson today and I expect him to get better.

Germany definitely looks like the best team so far. Italy, England, and France are all a little disappointing to me. Netherlands and Argentina were all right, they could improve a lot with the talents that they have. Looking forward to Brazil and Spain.

Well, I don't know, but he will have an MRI, so I have to believe that something is wrong with Tiger.
-
Nobody is really going low today so far, much tougher scoring conditions today.

Like some of you said, at this moment, Phil is better and a lot of players are better than Tiger right now since Tiger is playing so poorly. However, if you consider the past performances/achievements, definitely none of the current player is better than Tiger. If Phil win 1 or 2 more majors this season and Tiger continues to perform poorly, then I might change my opinion.

Tiger is never a straight hitter, but he usually recovers well when he gets into trouble off the tee and misses the fairways. However, he is struggling with everything on his golf game right now. I think it has a lot to do with what's going on in his personal life. If you can't totally focus mentally on the golf courses, you aren't likely to do well on the Tour. Tiger will be back, but we just don't know when it will be and it could take a lot longer than some of us originally thought. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins again soon, could be as soon as next week, but for now I am leaning toward to believe that he will struggle for awhile until he wins again.

Wow, what a win by McIlroy. It was quiet a show by Rory and this tournament still turned out to be a great one to watch even though Tiger missed the weekend. AK got his first victory on this course also, so Rickie Fowler could be the next one and Rickie played well this week also. It is great to see that we have some young stars like McIlroy, AK, and Fowler coming up. Phil played well again and should win a few more tournaments this year, but Rory was just too good today.
-
Tiger is striking the ball poorly, don't really think he has any chance next week at the Players since you have to strike the ball really well there to contend. Fortunately for us, the leaderboard is looking great and the weekend should be fun. Let's see if Cabrera can hold onto the lead. He usually win when he is in contention.
-
First of all, I think he needs to be happier and love playing golf again. He doesn't look happy out there. Also, forget about his putting, he isn't even striking the ball well. He can't win if his ball striking doesn't get better.
-
Good to see him playing in the Players Championship. I don't think he is striking the ball well enough to win though, you really have to strike the ball well to win this tournament, and very often Tiger hasn't contended there when you compare his records at other courses.
-
Hard choice between the US Open and the British Open, but I am gonna pick the British Open because of the weather.

Well, I agree that it is good to see Tiger is back playing golf again and seems like he won't be skipping the tournaments that he usually played. In my opinion, if he can't work it out with Elin, then he should be playing golf and move on. However, I also don't think that Elin deserves to be called an idiot or a greedy woman. She is the biggest victim of this scandal. Tiger was selfish to cheat on her, then it is not that unreasonable if she asks Tiger to sacrifice golf for the time being and try to save their marriages. As a golf fan, I love to see Tiger coming back and playing golf, and the Masters wouldn't be as good last week without Tiger, but we shouldn't blame Elin also.

ok, I apologize. I wasn't trying to focus on stats, I was just worrying that whether Ernie has peaked too early. Stats mean nothing, like you said, I was trying to be funny, but it didn't work. Sorry everybody.
