  1. Where should one go to get clubs fitted? I saw at golf galaxy it was like 50dollars for a driver fitting unless you purchased the driver there. I need to get one of my wedges fitted (my vokey purchased it on ebay and it ended up being a +2)
  2. I need help on getting better contact with my woods from the fairway / rough. I can hit the ball pretty well using my woods from a tee but when it comes to getting onto the fairway I usually end up "chunking" it or topping it. Where should the ball be in my stance? I've worked on my driving and now I can keep the ball outta the woods and into the rough/fairway but now my 2nd shot's are terrible.
  3. I played with the E6+'s todays. Fell in love with the first drive that went dead straight. Gonna order some from lostgolfballs now.
  4. Went golfing with a friend of mine yesterday, he picked up a new Titleist staff bag from some girl who's boyfriend left her and left his bag behind. So he gave me his old bag for free.. Callaway Big Bertha Staff bag.
  5. According to the bridgestone ball fitting guy that was at the driving range the other day Bridgestone actually makes Nike's balls for them.
  6. looks like your hat is crooked
  7. Usually get out to the range twice a week and try to play twice a week. All depends on how I'm feeling and the weather. oh and the wife :)
  8. I really liked the coach. He was really impressed with the distance I was getting. He gave me his home number and said if I ever had any questions to just give me a call and he can help me over the phone. Also said to give him a call in a couple weeks and let him know how everythings working out.
  9. Local driving range had a Bridgestone ball fitting earlier. Coming off my golf lesson I wanted to hit some more balls so I stopped by and signed up for a fitting. When it came to my turn I talked to the guy running it and turns out their equipment was not able to be configured for a lefty. So the guy got me a bucket of balls and watched me hit them. Asked me some questions about my game. (he was pretty impressed on how well I could hit for how long I have been playing) I told him I have been playing the Nike Power distance soft and he recommended the Bridgestone E6+ to reduce my fade a bit more and get a more straighter shot. He also stated the Treosoft might be good as an alternative. I really like that they didn't just recommend their most expensive ball. Also he stated that Bridgestone actually makes Nike's balls for them.
  10. the Sharpro grips are supposed to be a good alternative to the GP muticompounds.
  11. When I started golfing last winter I took a course at the local community course for an intro to golf. Today I finally took another lesson with the local PGA pro at the course. Been trying to correct my wicked slice for the past couple months not getting very far. The pro had me first hit a couple balls using my fav club (lob wedge) then I went to the driver. He noticed I had a good swing path and was on a good plane. He had me transfer my weight more to my back foot on the back swing to make sure I fully transferred my weight. Also had me tilt my head up slightly. Also had my drive my hands downward instead of lifting which was causing me to hit some balls thin. These small changes totally fixed my swing. I was hitting the ball further. Started to even get a draw out of some balls. It feels great
  12. Same here, just added the Gap Wedge and replaced my SW with the Callaway X-Tour (was matched to my set) Thinking about replacing the PW with an Callaway or Vokey wedge. I love wedges, I might even add a 64* to my collection for shorter courses where I leave the driver in the trunk.
  13. He thought it was more formal so he wore jeans?
  14. Hmm I use red because it matches my putter. But maybe thats why I usually jam it 20feet past the hole?
  15. Usually get them from the Clearance racks at Golf Galaxy, Dicks, Dunhams. Or from Gabriel Brothers (Like a TJ Max but better prices) My mother will sometimes get me some from Macy's. (Gets an employee discount) Also I find a bunch from Thrift stores. Alot are brand new. (Usually find them embroidered from events were they had left overs.)
  16. I have both, so depending what I plan on doing that day I will load my stuff into the correct bag. Usually if I play by myself I will walk. If my wife plays we will ride. (She likes driving the carts)
  17. http://www.leadbetterinteractive.com/html/sof.asp I have a copy of this. I have'nt used it much as I gotta mess with the settings on my camera to see if I can get it to work since I dont own a camcorder.
  18. enough said
  19. Almost had the same thing last night with my new 60*. Bounced off the pin. Still made the putt for par though. 3rd Par ever
  20. Last night went to a Novice night with the wife at a local course. 11.50 for a cart and as much as you can play after 7:00pm. I left the driver in the trunk and played 3W for tee shots. Shot a 48 on 9 holes. My personal best by a couple strokes (54 was before) Everything was just going great. It started pouring on #6 (felt like the preacher from Caddyshack) but I had to keep going to get a round in. http://www.oobgolf.com/golfers/score.php?id=448420 I'm kinda afraid to go back out since I probably wont play that well again.
  21. The most frustrating thing I find is not being able to get good deals on ebay. if you look for a certain popular club there are 850 rightys and 27 lefties. Sucks..
  22. Welcome, what part of Va Beach? I grew up in the Salem Lakes / Princess Anne area near the Amphitheater. Moved up here when I turned 20. Dunno why LOL
  23. Also you are playing against the course. For the most part a Tennis Court is a tennis court.
  24. I love finding good deals on ebay. But it's hard that I'm a lefty. So far I got my TaylorMade Rossa Daytona 1 putter for 35 and my Vokey lob wedge for 26.
  25. What was the article about?
