  1. hey, i have a machine putter (retails for more than the scotty)...would you be interested in a trade? i can provide pics if necessary..
  2. played june 30...it was 99 in bethesda and an index of 115*...we teed off at 1:05 and ended at 5:40...i've never, nor will ever play golf in that kind of heat again. un.bearable.
  3. wow, with sarcasm like that, it's amazing you don't do standup as a opening act for carrot top. i was giving a review based on my opinions, if you have nothing good to say, regardless of your rep you could keep your mouth shut. gfy.
  4. I just bought one...i was having incredible numbers on it via a trackman compared to my RBZ Tour driver i currently use. club is STUPID good. it makes you want to hit the bajesus out of it, and the best part? it LETS you and still puts it in the fairway. fantastic club!
  5. sorry guys this has been sold. i haven't been to TST in awhile. moderators please close.
  6. ironically i went to dicks yesterday to get a full set of cleveland 588's...they had 3, yes, 3 wedges left and was told that they were going to backorder but decided not due to 'unforseen circumstances which made us change our decision NOT to stock more until further notice from corporate'....don't know what that means but, that CERTAINLY doesn't sound good.
  7. once a year i get out the polishing compound and hit to the work-bench buffing wheel and do my blades :) they look dang purdy after i'm done...
  8. completely depends on the pin placement...i know it sucks to hear that word as an answer but honestly, "depends..." first, if the pin is back or front it doesn't matter, the smart play would be to leave yourself (regardless of over or short of the green) the best way of up and down without short-siding yourself (best choice is always to be on the green in reg but...). i'm always going for the green, but if i miss i'm not thinking 'oh well if i miss there i can still put clockwise or counter clockwise spin on it', if you're good enough to determine what spin to put on the ball, you shouldn't be deciding which rough to hit out of for an up and down...you should be putting.
  9. my titleist 14-way stand bag is phenomenal...large enough to carry everything my staff bag could carry and has great straps for walking...no complaints what-so-ever
  10. meghan or not, kelly is the hottest on the show and the one i'm routing for...imo as always.
  11. mine comes off inside 100 yards. i practice my short game without a glove so its just something i'm used to...and definitely putting...it just never feels right putting with it on.
  12. i bought my 910F-d fairway wood for specifically hitting it off the tee more...thing is a beast.
  13. i believe the majority of courses are too long from the back. i also believe courses in the north are being strung out to lengths they shouldn't b/c as everyone knows, a course in phoenix playin 6,900 yards and a course in the northeast measuring the same 6,900 are night/day. i can go to phoenix, play a 'long' course at about 6,900 and shoot 4-5 strokes better than my home course which measures from the back around 6,700. to make a good golf course you have to make it challenging to ALL types, consider the membership (we talking muni or full-blown country club?) for costs, and consider location/climate/etc to determine a FAIR, challenging course for everyone. most designers (as mentioned) are looking to design gorgeous, difficult courses with huge price tags in hopes of drawing elite golfers in the top 5% at most. i can think of at least 4 courses in my area that are too long even for low handicappers (from 5-plus handicappers) to score well.
  14. i have a fiancee who's planning more than i can afford at the moment...buh bye greens-fees fund.
  15. i love people who try to quanitify the use of old equipment, stroke averages and percent chances to win. honestly? if we're using lee westwood using old clubs i'll take the scratch golfer...the man is as erratic at times as a coked up squirell. i was watching a special on golf channel of johnny miller going against jack and johnny shot 8 over thru 14...(i left the clubhouse then) i think based on how far he was hitting his driver and irons...a scratch golfer with todays' equipment could definitely have given him a run for his money...why not a pro today using 20 year old clubs?...
  16. for fun last year i had my gf help me out. i bought a box of 6 different dozen balls, and had her (without me knowing) mark all the balls up the same way, permanent marking over lines, numbers, logos, etc...in the spring i always played the same course after work...she'd give me two sleeves (she knew which ones they were based on putting a 1 and a 2 on the sleeve) and i'd use each one for each 9. i'd write down at the turn at the 19th hole what i felt about each one and she marked what balls they were, and kept the reviews till i was done testing. did this till i got through the 6 different balls (she mixed up sleeves every now and then about balls i previous played to see if my reactions were different). at the end of 10 rounds, she gave me the reviews back with the revealed brands/types...surprised me to say the least. ended up loving the bridgestone b330, hating the prov1 (mostly durability). /whew.
  17. i was told TM didn't have the pentas and other offerings available for golf digest testing...that being said, i could understand why ppl would get the idea TM fell off the map since golf digest was only testing 2012 versions of AVAILABLE golf balls.
  18. I've actually switched to hitting the new NXT Tour S...it is long and spins just enough for me...and at the price point, sure beats the prov's i used to play....
  19. haha, ironic you say that...b/c my home course...has just that. a 225 yard par 3 from the tips on 16. bunkers left and front right, slopes back to front but has a false front and back right corner has a dog ear that falls off the back...into THICK rough. and there is thick rough off the back and infront of the bunkers. it is a BEAST when they roll it to a 12 on the stimp for the club championship.
  20. my trusty, hole seeking, pure rolling custom scotty cameron studio select newport 2.6
  21. i play a course near my work that is a 6,400 yard par 71 course from the blues (NOT the tips) and features a widely-discussed and controversial 240 yard par 3...265 from the tips. this hole, even from whites is over 225. overall the course is very fair and playable...but hitting to a 240 yard par 3 is unreal, especially if the rest of the course is manageable from the blues. don't know where i was going with my post but, i really hate that par 3. oh and btw...it's the second hole.
  22. yesterday i shot a 79 on a par 71 with 26 putts. lol if i could get on the damn green in reg i'd be dangerous!!! as angry as you are with your putting, that's me with my approaches...esp b/c i don't know why i miss?
  23. i did, and still have it set up the same way. i said f the weights. put a 6 in both heel and toe and never hit it straighter or longer lol. do it.
  24. i hate to say it but, jamie's wrists are more flexible, and STRONG...than most peoples. his angles that he achieves, most people can't achieve just by simple genetics. for me to get the angle he does, i'd have to break my wrist. not only that but, why do you really want to hit it 350+ yards ? are 380 yard par 4's something you want to drive? yes, jamie can hit it that long...but keep in mind his +/- when he misses are pretty ridiculous off target. put him on a treelined course and he'd have a tough time hitting driver on any more than 5 holes. to each their own but at your age, work on strength/core...flexibility is one thing but the fast twitch muscles are what make you not only longer, but more CONTROLLABLE.
