  1. It was a joke making fun of the title and statement. Totally agree about the rankings thing too. They're silly - pure marketing.
  2. The biggest difference between Top 100 Teachers and bad ones, is that stupid statements by bad teachers don't end up in Golf Magazine, while...
  3. To be fair to physics, these are both downhill holes that often play into some wind. For these guys, the course is absolutely defenseless this week, soft greens and almost no wind. I played there a few years ago, and I couldn't reach #18 in 6 shots. OK, fine, there was no wind that day either, but still.😅
  4. 1. Sungjae Im (26th) 5@$3.94 = $19.70 2. Max Homa (35th) - 6@$2.80 = $16.80 3. Aaron Wise (64th) - 9@1.86: = $16.74 4. Ricky Fowler (87th): 10@ $1.60 = $16.00 5. Kramer Hickock (133rd) 12@ $1.27 = $15.24 6. Patrick Rogers (195th) 18@:$0.86 = $15.48 $19.70 + $16.80 + $16.74+ $16.00 + $15.24 + $15.48 = $99.96 ($0.04 Rollover)
  5. Holy s***. What a nightmare! Sounds like he's lucky to be alive. I went to UW-madison, and was in the hospital there for some tests at one point. That place is one of the top university hospitals in the country, so I'm sure he got the best care possible.
  6. 1. Don't Look Up: Was prepared to be annoyed, but ended up liking it a lot. As @iacas said, a bit too long. I found the middle boring but thought it started and finished strong. Birdie. 2. The Lost Daughter: Haunting, questioning, strong child acting, and ambiguous ending. All things I like in movies. Birdie.
  7. Near my in-laws in Great Barrington, MA, there was a public course that finally closed a few years ago. They kept trying to sell the course (I think it was on the market for $1.5M-$2M) and then just closed down from lack of business. I heard a solar developer bought the land but it's still just covered with weeds. I miss that place. This course in MI is less than an hour from a friend's summer place on Lake Michigan. Maybe I'll check it out next time I'm out there.
  8. My home course blows. I'm embarrassed to even call it home, or even a course. And it's cheap. So I have to go with #2.
  9. The amplification is at the heart of the matter when it comes to Facebook, TikTok, etc. These platforms are designed to spread content, and the content that spreads best is sometimes the most "radical". So while I agree with @boogielicious that the people are at the root of the problem, the social media companies are not blameless IMO.
  10. Stroke play.
  11. A quick Google search confirms this. Unfortunately @Ian389 , it is unlikely you will be square with the card anytime soon. Join the club.
  12. Can you ask him if lifting without a shirt is also required in this technique?
  13. This reminds me a bit of Tiger's whining about the press and his hard work early in his career. As Tiger (or someone who wrote about him) told it, Mark O'Meara took him aside and told him (I'm paraphrasing): "Nobody wants to hear about that stuff, so cut it out."
  14. Agree. It would have been leaked by now. The police stated that they did not do any sobriety tests. I'm sure blood was taken at the hospital, but without a direct order by a doctor (for medical reasons) or a court order, they would never look for anything like drugs or alcohol in his system. And even if they did, that data would be protected.
  15. Definitely. Respectfully disagree. IMO, when there is this much money and pressure on the line, athletes will do whatever possible to win. The result of BDC winning tournaments because of his driver might influence future pro golfers to get strong fast. Some might chose PEDS. Again, not saying BDC did anything - I have no idea, and you may very well be right about him.
  16. You never know. I thought the same thing about Lance Armstrong - cancer survivor, top of the world. Obviously a different sport and person, but I believe that any athlete that performs much better than everyone else is a little suspect. Please don't take this comment as saying that all (or even many) athletes that push performance boundaries are doping. I'm just saying that an athlete's perceived behavior or ideology is probably not a good predictor of whether he/she dopes or not.
  17. We may be entitled to see the police report. They are government records, and depending on FOI laws in CA, may be available to the public. Anyone on here a CA lawyer? In terms of journalists, that's their job. Just like he's entitled to keep quiet, they're entitled to ask questions.
  18. Couldn't agree more. The Mayo clinic has a "moron" tracker. You can see rates of vaccination by state and age groups. One positive thing I see is that over age 65, most people in this country are smart enough to get vaccinated. U.S. COVID-19 vaccine tracker: See your state's progress Check our U.S. COVID-19 vaccine tracker to see how many people are vaccinated in your state, plus vaccine trends and expert advice.
  19. We can measure immune response, but the measurement is currently only useful on a population-level, not an individual level (this is true of both vaccine and infection responses). This may change in near future. Both vaccine and infection do show high levels of protection against future infection. Yes. They also have a more consistent and stronger initial antibody response. 20. Agree on this needing a new thread. I think it could happen in the next 5-10 years. Purses will keep growing, so could could be DJ or JT or someone relatively young.
  21. The letter with the wings looks pretty close to me.
  22. Man, this team's lawyers must be busy. Old Angels logo
  23. They were relatively small, but they did have the biggest biotech IPO in history in 2018 (raised over $600M). It's actually a cool story, their entire company was about modified RNA, hence their name (MODifEd RNA). They were just small enough to move fast, and big enough to have the money to do it. Right technology, right place, right time.
  24. Getting a bit OT, but the NFL said they never considered him vaccinated (he petitioned to be called "vaccinated" and they rejected it). I don't think they'll take any action against him.
  25. Exactly. If you're comfortable with the risk, that's fine. But unless you plan on sequestering for the entire pandemic, it's not just about you.
