  1. Did you write down the number of the cart? I would definitely call the pro shop and tell them you pointed it out to a cart attendant. The other complaint I would make in addition to the cart itself is the attitude of the attendant. He works for the course and is representing them, so to say "**** happens" is unacceptable. It was his job to bring this to the attention of the pro shop. If the pro tells you to take a leap, bring it to the attention of the course mmgt.
  2. GPS can be off, the tees are almost always off, as are the distance markers on the course. The only way to know with absolute certainty is with a good quality laser rangefinder on a straight and level fairway.
  3. If you can consistently hit a 2i well, you will hit a 5W even better.
  4. I don't have a 3W, but I consistently hit my 5W well off the fairway to about 220-230. If there is a hazard anywhere near that distance, I'll lay up.
  5. I have to say, JD has come a long way and much further than most thought he was capable of. I am really not a fan of his, but I do give credit where its due.

    Rory!

To have that much confidence in his game at that age is incredible. I have never seen him shaken.
  7. I'm jealous. I want to attend all the majors at least once in my life. I haven't attended any yet. Definitely follow the rules. You wouldn't want to ruin what will be a great memory by getting kicked out on your arse.
  8. I too got my initiation fee waived. You almost certainly will not get your annual fee reduced. This is their operating revenue.

    $ Signs

Uh, what did he come away with? Afterall, he already had his equipment by that time. Did they give him a couple of boxes of TM balls?
  10. US - Stricker England - Poulter Germany - Kaymer Ireland - McIlroy Asia - Choi
  11. This pretty much proves that JD is more of an a** than a lovable loser.
  12. If anyone has a lefty version, let me know. I'll buy it.
  13. I like to see the pros play on challenging courses because it really differentiates between the good players and the really great players. However, at some point the super hard greens, ridiculously hard pin placements, and 12" rough just become gimmicky and begin to favor luck, not skill.

    Iron Covers?

I have a fairly new set of MP-57's and would like them to stay that way aas long as possible. I recently bought a cheap set of iron covers for them, but they are very loose and I have already lost three of them. I am guessing that they were made for huge cavity-back clubs that have a very deep profile. In any case, I need some covers that will fit snugly on blade-like irons. Any suggestions?
  15. This isn't about excelling; it is about dominating. You won't find any athletes, even cross-overs, that dominate in more than one sport. Tiger has dominated golf in a way that perhaps no one ever has.
  16. How many golf balls do you think McIlroy has hit in his lifetime?
  17. You should have asked him how he could kick an old man to the curb like that?
  18. Drained a 45 foot putt uphill w/ significant break. Downside was that it was for par.
  19. Tiger obviously doesn't want Elin to reveal that he is a cyborg.
  20. I agree with the whole "reality show" look. Its definitely a sign that the show is about to jump the shark.
  21. BTW, I'm up to around 30 swing thoughts. About 2/3 are now muscle memory. As I commit them to memory, I'll add 1-2 more.
  22. Hey, how did I end up in a cartoon?
  23. A resort implies a public setting. I don't know of any "resort" that the public can't play...as long as you are staying there.
  24. I've tweaked my swing a lot, now to the point that when I really concentrate and make myself make the swing that I have honed, I can hit a beautiful shot - straight, high, and long. If I had the metnal discipline to make shots like that all day, I would have the potential to be a scratch player, no doubt. I say potential because a great swing is only part of the equation. The other is course management and that is something that is not learned on the range.
  25. I never used to mark my balls, but since I have started doing so, my life on the course is much easier. On any given day, I usually have about 20-30 different balls in my bag (my father gave me about 400 like-new used balls a couple of years ago) and I typically don't even remember what ball I am playing, so marking them is essential.
