  1. I find that its all the noob players that pick up balls. Sometimes when i push my shots and end on the other fairway, they assume, "1 2 3 4 5 balls?! no wait... this isnt right... imma keep this one!" I had to stop this teenage from stealing my ball. This is one of my biggest pet peeves.
  2. Depending on how you hit, if im reading it correctly, your ferrule will get loose over time if there is a gap. Its not a main concern, unless he didnt shaft the club in the hosel correctly. If you are paranoid, just bring it back and tell him to adjust it for you.
  3. Hm... im pretty faithful to Taylormade woods. Try the burner drivers, they are relatively cheap $199 for a new one. Received Hot List Gold award and is fairly easy but long club to use. Get a TP if its too flexy, or a Tour if you draw or hook to much. Theres also r7 limited, again $199 (i was seriously gonna get this, but my dad bought me the r9 for my bday). Also you can check superquad. All great clubs to get.
  4. There is 2 really good tips for this types of mistake. #1 I use this when i play ALL the time, seriously it works. On 15 to 20 footers, i set a ritual as if im bowling the ball into the hole. Depending on the speed of the green, I literally sway my arms as if im bowling the hole (sometimes my friends and golf buddies bash on me when i do this, but it really helps me visualize the speed and power i need to put in my swing). I pick a line and i pretend that i am bowling, swaying my arms back and forth, until i find the right speed and power. Then i pick up the club and i 100% try to mimic that power and strength. From there its all confidence and dont second guess yourself and go for it! Try it at the range couple of times. This was the best putting tip i have received from my teaching pro. #2 Putt while looking at the hole. This is unorthodox but it works. Just like the basketball theory, its a lot easier to shoot a basketball because you are looking at the rim and calculating the distance as you shoot. But now try to shoot a basketball the way you putt, try aligning and calculating a basketball shot while closing your eyes or looking at the ground while shooting. I will guarantee that it will be much harder to shoot a basketball that way. Most people rely more on hand eye coordination, and by putting by looking at the hole helps stimulate a feel for distance and range. This helps people tremendously on finding the right feel for a stroke. After a while, you just know your strength and feel, and do it naturally and focus more on accuracy. Its just a matter of time. Play around with both tips. Both tips always leave me within 6 feet of the hole from a 20 feet putt every time. Its the 3-8 feet that are the hardest in my opinion!
  5. Okay first, what type of putter do you have (mallet or blade). Whats the weight balance (Toe or Face balanced). What kinda hosel do you have. Does the length fit your swing? Aligning the ball on the left heel like a driver is certainly not an orthodox method of putting. Unless your club is really long or something, its generally something i wouldnt do. On my blade, toe weighted, plumber neck hosel, i generally have it a little bit left of center, like im hitting a 5 iron. That way, my hands are in front at the moment of impact, producing more speed and better feel. First answer those questions. Each spec of putter has a different way to putt it. If it still doesnt work out, send us a clip of your putting stroke.
  6. its just you. His coil looks fine from down the line, i need to see side view.
  7. You might have to get X100 or project x 6.0. If you hit 155-165 and its going super high or ballooning, apparently your putting too much spin on it (Unless you do something funky with your swing or something). A stiffer shaft will keep it a good trajectory. Best bet is to get fitted at a demo day or at your local golf shop. I like project x because of the way it feels, looks, and performs for me. It a bit stiff on the butt, so it feels a bit stiffer at impact. Some people despise the feeling. Overall you have to try both shafts to see which one you prefer. As for stiffness you might want to double check your swing speed at your local golf shop to make sure you get the right shaft. If its feels too bendy, it means its too light or not the flex for you.
  8. I would have to say they are the best 2 piece feel ball that i have tried. They almost feel like a 3 piece. They are soft and holds spins fairly well. I still have 2 sleeves of it when i go play courses i never played. They last fairly long as well.
  9. Haha, dont get too nervous. I remember going out my first time i was so nervous to hit a perfect shot i lost like 20 balls. Just relax and have fun!
  10. My answer would be off a fairway. It would be more useful then just using on the tee. Plus i dont have problem hitting the ball with my driver. If you cant hit drivers, it might be beneficial for you to substitute a 3 wood for a driver. I would imagine you would use the 3wood a lot more teeing off (14 holes), and depending on your distance, off the fairway you only get to use it on long par 5s, which is only 3-5 holes. I myself rarely use my 3 wood on the fairway, because i drive the ball long enough for me to use a 5 wood or a 3 hybrid, but again it really matters on your distance So seriously... ask yourself: would it be better to get a club i would use for about 14 holes, or a club i will likely use for 3-5 holes (again this really depends on your distance). Plus driving is super important because it gives you confidence and power over other players who hit shorter then you. I think you would play more confident with a better first shot, then with second a recovery shot. Good luck and happy hitting!

    Moe Norman

The youtube video of moe was epic on second page was epic. Thats the last time i judge anyone by their swing.
  12. D2 is great ball! I use to use it when i was starting out and it feels so good. I used straight for a while then switch over to Feel. Right now im experimenting with different balls. To me, the straight produces a little bit of longer distance, and straighter shots. As for on the green, it wasnt too bad. The ball wont hold spins but feeling is okay. Feels a bit harder on the putting green, and not as gummy as the feel. Both good balls, get straight if you have a slice tendency. I would definitely recommend D2 to anybody, they feel good, perform good, and priced well. The D2 Feel almost feels like 3 piece ball for only $15 bucks.
  13. HAHA you never know. The range pro that gives you an advice could be the next tiger woods. Then you would be like, damn i shoulda listen.
  14. quick question is this a stack and tilt swing?
  15. Great Swing, Dont worry about head movement, as long you are back into address position at the moment of impact. Tilting your head a little bit actually gives you more coil, thus more distance. You have an over the top swing, most likely you are slicing the ball. Your swing plane starts flat then it comes from the top and into a steeper outside in swing. Your shoulders are moving in too fast at the moment of impact. Your not hitting the center sweet spot either. Your hitting it closer to the toe (i could be wrong). Overall great tempo and great swing, keep at it!
  16. On average how far can you carry with a 7iron. Describe the ball trajectory.
  17. WOW. i will be rich and famous one day, and i will play at pebble everyday someday.
  18. Golf pride MCC Green for me. They last long, look clean, and performs well. Plus a lot people use it. Everyone is getting the white one nowadays, sigh*
  19. I second that suggestion. It natural comes and goes my friend.

    yardages

i bet its those GPS companies. At night they send ninjas to steal all the courses yardage markers so people can play $300 for a sky caddie + subscription. Damn those people!
  21. Nice! not so nice that you broke your pinky though...
  22. Congrats i hope it helps your short game.
  23. Try indoor video swing analysis. That would seem to be more beneficial to you.
  24. If i were you i would get the 56. The 56 is such a versatile club and i use it everywhere, sand, chipping, approach. 60 is just too hard to use for high handicappers and its just better to stick with 56 till you get better. your 52 sw is actually a gap wedge, so you have pw gw and sw. Its a good set.
  25. It really depends where he got reshafted and such. If he did it through titleist or from scotty himself it should be fine. If he did it himself or at a local golf shop, i cant really say.
