  2. Fabian, I hope you had a great time in Mexico and got to play some golf. I only had the chance to play once at Palmilla. A great course with some beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez. I would have liked to play more, but it was just to expensive for me. I spent most of the time with my wife and daughter by the pool and site seeeing and just enjoying our time together.
  3. Played on Saturday 7/13/13. Even par 35 on the front, and a 3 over 38 on the back for a 73. Played solid all day. Made some good putts, as well as some nice up and down saves.
  4. I practice in the early morning before work at 5:00 to 7:30 once or twice a week. I chip and putt for an hour and a half, and then hit balls on the range for another half hour or so. I play on Saturday and Sunday mornings in a league with friends, and i get there early and hit balls on Saturday for an hour before we tee off at 7:30, and on Sunday we play at 8:30 or so, and I get to practice for about 2 hours. If I have the time after I play, I will work on my swing for an hour or so. My club doesn't open the course for play until 7:00 during the week, so I don't get the chance to play before work, so I probably end up practicing a little less than the time it takes me to play twice a week I wish my club opened the course earlier so i could play 9 holes before work.
  5. CBS...I'm Feherty fan and that also gives the edge to CBS as well.
  6. k-troop, Thanks for the information, and yes the thread is really old. I did a search and this came up, so I just went with it hoping to get a response. When I get back I'll update the thread with some current information for other members that might be going to Cabo in the future. Thank you.
  7. Chip Shot, I'm on my way to Cabo San Lucas with my wife and daughter for April vacation, and will be staying at the same location that you did. I'm going to play 3 times, so I think I'll bring my clubs. I know you went a couple of years ago, but how was it? Thanks Jim
  8. I carried for years, but then had 3 different surgeries, one on my foot, and one for each shoulder, and since then I have used a push cart. I play with a lot of different people, and some of them carry, and some use a push or pull cart. I really don't give it a second thought, and have never heard any negative comments about using one.
  9. Rfordeagle, I've recently been working on the same thing from the other side (righty) of the ball. I've been concentrating on keeping my left arm straight, close to my chest while making a good turn with my shoulders away from the ball. I have trouble with the drill of keeping a glove or towel under my arm...it just doesn't feel comfortable, and I'm sure it's not suppose to, but I just haven't been able to make it work. I saw a person on the range the other day with a bungee cord around the outside of their left arm, and around their back and chest and under their right arm attempting to keep the left arm close to their chest, or keeping the arm connected during the swing. I haven't tried this drill yet, but thought I would pass it along.
  10. I'm a member at the Harmon Club in Rockland, MA. It's a small private 9 hole club, but if you're ever in the area, and want to play, I'd be happy to meet you on a Saturday morning around 9:00 is when I play. The South Shore Country Club in Hingham is open. It's a nice 18 hole course open to the public.
  11. Played last Sunday...winter golf....and had a 39 on the front and 40 on the back for a 79. Short game is hurting from not being able to play during the week this time of year.
  12. 170 yards.....I'm old.
  13. I live just south of Boston and have been playing on the weekends. Last winter was a gift, and I can only hope this weather continues. I'll play if it's not raining or too windy and it's 35* or higher.
  14. Hit more fairways and greens in regulation. Have a below par or even par round for 18 holes, I had a 2 under round for 9 holes earlier this year....more consistency.
  15. I play with a group on Saturdays for $10.00 a man. We usually play quota. I also play on Sundays with usually 4 to 7 groups, and we play different formats....best ball, Quota, one ball net and one gross. And we play for $20.00 a guy, front 9, back 9, total and skins.
  16. Played last Sunday and had back to back birdies on 8 & 9. On 8 I hit a nine iron to about three feet and made the putt. The 9th is a good par 4 - 459 yards, and I hit a seven iron to about 15 feet and made the birdie. Both skins held up as well.
  17. I played 18 at my home course (Harmon Club, Rocklan, MA) on Sunday, and had my best 9 holes ever. After a poor front 9 (43) I played the back 9 in 33, 2 under par. It's the first time I've ever been under par for 9 holes. I had 3 birdies and one bogey. The best shot of the round, a 30 foot putt to save par on the second hole.
  18. It depends on the hole, as well as how well I might or might not be hitting the driver that day. on a par 4, it's what ever club I can hit off the tee that will put an 8, 9 or wedge in my hand. And on par 5's, If I have no chance of getting there in 2, why hit driver if there is trouble all around, make it a 3 shot hole and hope to one put for birdie.
  19. Played the Harmon Club in Rockland, MA on July 4th in the rain and had a one over 36 on the front, and an 8 over 43 on the back for a 79.....oh it could have been much better, but it seems like I say that a lot.
  20. Congratulations on breaking 80, and I don't think it is cheating. I play on a short (6016 yards) par 70, with water in play on every hole, small firm greens and OB on several holes as well. When I break 80 I'm always happy. No matter how long or short the course, you still need to make the shots and get the ball in the hole.
  21. Nicklaus Fred Couples Lee Trevino Arnold
  22. 5th hole at my club a par 5 (short one) hit a good drive, had 190 left and hit a 4 iron pin high but 25 feet right of the hole. I missed the eagle but mage birdie.
  23. 1 would be the hardest hole.
  24. I use to play 9 holes alone at 5:30 in the morning before work, but the course I play now doesn't open until 6:45, so it's difficult to get 9 in before work and get to work on time. I don't believe there is anything lame about playing alone, and I enjoy both playing alone as well as with others, because all I really want to do is play.
