My personal experience isn't relative? Lol! What a joke. Here comes "cancel culture". Now your gaslighting me for giving my own personal opinion based on living my own life here in Florida while you sit in PA. Priceless. If Florida is so bad, why are politicians like AOC and Michigan's Governor Whitmer safe to come here. Because they're hypocrites. How would that go over here if I wrote disparaging things about your home State of PA? It's not a virtual fact unless you can provide some hard data to back it up. Follow the science instead of following political science. There is no need for a vaccine in an immune system that is showing antibodies. But, I guess you're a doctor as well as a "golf pro"? My primary care physician knows quite a bit more than you do. But hey, this is your kingdom and anyone who disagrees with the ruler gets the boot. Enjoy your new clothes your nakedness. I'm out.

My response was directed at those so very critical of Florida, my home State. Plenty of criticism born of media hype. I don't believe in nanobots or magnetic chips or other conspiracy theories. I also don't believe that locking ourselves away, masking to oblivion or getting 37 booster shots is the answer either. Guess getting booster jabs keep people from getting Covid too. Because there are plenty of people who are "vaxxed to the max" that are continuing to get Covid and pass it on to others. I'm not bankrolling big pharma. But, I am very happy for you that you find security in receiving booster shots. Your body, your choice. Thanks for the concern. Had Covid in November of 2020. I still have the anti-bodies as of six months ago. I'm not anti-vax. My shot record is up to date. I do believe in the human immune system and so does my Doctor.

Oh, I don't know. I live in Florida, lived through Covid after contracting it. And I see a TON of people from other States here on our course doing just fine. I'm at the clubhouse, on the course and in the Pro-shop four to five times a week and I get to talk with all sorts of our visitors and guests from the Northeast, out West, Great Britain, Canada, Australia ..... you name it. And they all think that where they come from is "insane". They love Florida and they love coming here. Florida isn't "insane" and neither is our State leadership. What's insane is continuing to destroy the economy with these asinine lock-downs and mandatory masking that even so-called leaders aren't abiding by anymore. We're doing just fine down here in Florida. I lived through Covid, it was a joke and nothing more than a mild case of the flu. I live in a retirement community (55+) in the last two years, our community hasn't lost one person to "Covid". It's way past time to live your lives. Spring is coming, Summer is almost here. Get outside and live your lives.

In the Florida Summer I wear them. Preferably white sleeves. They not only offer some protection from UV, they also act like a cooling and wicking effect once the sweat begins to flow.

Differing opinions are fine with me. I'm starting to see certain members being singled out and pilloried however. I'm not fine with that. But, earlier on I'm sure that it was a great read.

Not surprising at all considering neither have a place on a Golf forum. I see this thread probably headed in that same direction pretty soon. It's kinda played out really.

This is probably why I don't discuss the game of Golf on all those Covid 19 forums 😮

My handicap is accurate. GHIN updates after midnight for all scores posted the previous day and any round that I shoot, I score.

Our Club/Course is and has been running normally for the last nine months. There are a few exceptions being that the pin/flagstick has an easy lift mechanism to extract the holed golf ball. Our club carts have optional plastic barriers if people choose to ride together. Those of us who own our own carts are free to have passengers if we wish. Masks are worn inside the pro shop and upon entry into the bar/grille are until seated. Our community/club has not suffered an outbreak of Covid the entire time.

What about those who have already had COVID and have the anti-bodies? An immunization is to make a person immune. Why would they be required to get a an immunization against COVID and then carry papers with them to prove it?

I believe that something similar was tried in the 40's in Germany. No thanks.

Greens in Regulation is the barometer that I go by followed by putts per hole.

In How Many Countries Have You Played Golf?
Frank F replied to iSank's topic in Destinations and Travel
Only two for me. Here in the United States and for three years when I was stationed in Scotland. I was fortunate enough to have been gifted a membership to the Cowal Golf Club in Dunoon Scotland. -
Agree. I've played all of those formats personally. And let's not forget Rule 21.2 regarding maximum score during stroke play. In match play, I've missed and watched opponents miss 1 footers to win or lose a hole. But why else would the Superintendent go to all that trouble to actually punch a hole in the greens each day? I'm not working so hard in stroke play to arrive at the green in regulation just to pick up my ball. On a par 4, he probably should have picked up at 7 or 8 depending upon his handicap index.

We putt everything out. Anything else isn't golf.

You're absolutely correct Sir. Moderate away! My sincere apologies to you and the rest of the forum for my snarky commentary.

In the words of ncates00, "Good for You". My comment wasn't directed at you. Take a long look at the progression of this thread where I was personally attacked by another member here who you've also cautioned.

Shot 77 today. 10/14 fairways hit, 13/18 greens and 36 putts. But, for the life of me, I just couldn't seem to find that area on my scorecard where I needed to annotate how much time it took for me to finish my round. It seems that for me, time wasn't a factor today. Maybe you should try it sometime. Maybe then you could share your handicap index with the rest of us.

Lowest lifetime score today. 10/14 fairways in regulation, 13/18 greens in regulation, 36 putts and shot 77 today. And FWIW, I didn't even think about how much time it took to play my round today. Imagine that, I didn't find that space on the scorecard to fill in.

It's laughable because we're talking about a mere quarter of an hour that's why in my opinion. You mentioned some very good points to follow to speed up play. FWIW, I've been playing that way for 30+ years. For your information, etiquette goes both ways. Patience is quite the virtue, perhaps you should learn to exercise it on occaision. You're welcome "I guess". That was a nice cheap shot, noted. And I beg to differ with you. People need not learn to play golf faster necessarily. But, people should strive to play golf more efficiently. Faster doesn't always equate to a quality round. Unless of course, you're one of those guys who rushes his round and then stands in the middle of the fairway with his "Bitch WIngs" on full display because he finally found the fairway and now wants to push the group in front of him because all of a sudden he's a better player. I play regularly with a wounded Combat Vietnam Vet who can barely walk on some days. In my opinion, he's earned the right to play just a little bit slower than people like you might like. Maybe some day he can earn enough of the credit you are doling out to play to your satisfaction. SMH.

Late entry: Sunday (now yesterday) I went up to the course around 2:30 pm with the intention of working on my short game. Things were pretty quiet by that time probably due to the temperatures being in the low 90's. So I popped into the pro shop and asked to get out for 9. I went out on the front by myself and was nestled comfortably as a single behind a 3 ball. I actually prefer this once and awhile because it forces me to take more time for me. I shot 41 with 56% GIR but missed a few fairways and ended up with only 57% FIR. 19 putts due to a single 3 putt on the first hole after reaching in regulation. I play or practice almost everyday here. So, going from the chipping area right to the first tee wasn't a concern. I was pleased to see that I really don't need to pound dozens of balls on the range with my driver. In the words of Dave Rotella .... "Target, Routine, Acceptance".

Interesting video, thank you for sharing it. I've played Pro V1's, Velocity and currently play TruFeel. Off the tee distance isn't an issue or much of an importance for me personally. I never did dig deep enough with my launch monitor around the practice greens for spin rates on chips or out further on pitches. So, that portion of the video shared was very interesting. It has me looking at the Pro V1 again. It's merely a price point issue or it used to be for me. My handicap has gone from a 26 to around an 11 in about 2 years. I wouldn't tee up a Pro V1 back then because quite honestly, I lost too many golf balls. After lessons and practice and more lessons, I now draw the ball or hit straight from the tee instead of my former slice/push. In addition, because of my lack of length from the tee, my short game really is my strong suit. So for what I lose in distance (and a failure sometimes to reach in regulation), I can get up and down quite often. With that said, maybe for me it's time to go back to a higher spin rate for my work around the greens. By the way, I'm not getting into this argument about whether I can tell the difference between golf balls off the tee in a blind test. That argument serves me no purpose. I just appreciate the video that you shared.
