$1900 for a putter is insane but what about $750 for the headcover: http://cgi.ebay.com/Scotty-Cameron-T...4#ht_505wt_925

Who Does Augusta National Pair up with Tiger?
aceofharts336 replied to Chilli Dipper's topic in Tour Talk
I think Padraig Harrington could be a good pick for him. Paddy has played with Tiger before and has always been known for his calm demeanor. Only real problem I see with that is that he is number 10 in the world. -
Vince has been in contract negotiations with the golf channel on-and-off for several years. Perhaps this is what is happening here?

Most Forgiving Drivers?
aceofharts336 replied to juanrjackson's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Most square head drivers are designed with forgiveness a priority due to the perimeter weighting -
I have played RNK twice and many of Mark Strantz's designs. I would recommend getting a yardage book at choosing your lines carefully. One thing I have noticed about many of Strantz's designs is that you need to be able to see your ball flight and control your distance. A beautifully struck shot can easily disappear on many of the blind shots. On another note...have fun on the Green course at the Golden Horseshoe...It's not the gold but is still a great course...and get a hotdog with red relish at the concession stand...they are fantastic!!

I know that lift, clean, and place rules will often be implemented in wet conditions to keep "loose impediments" such as grass, sand, and dirt off a ball in the fairway.

FJ's are great and come with a waterproof money-back guarantee. -
I think free is great...even if it sits in my spare bag!

Companies strengths/weaknesses

I must say that the sound that Nike drivers make has always turned me away from the brand. At times I think the entire golf course knows when someone has teed off with a Nike driver! -
Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?

In the past month: -Ping V2 Rapture driver -Cleveland Launcher 3 wood -Titleist Vokey 52.08 and 58.12 - Heavy Putter CX2 -
I played Clevelands (588 and CG11) for the fast few years. I switched to Vokey at the beginning of the year and I absolutely love my decision!

I am willing to hit any brand that is recommended to me. During my last iron fitting, my pro recommended several irons and in the end my choices came down to Mizuno and Adams. While I was willing to hit many different brands during my fitting, I ended up choosing Mizuno because I "felt more confident" with the name Mizuno in my bag instead of Adams.

The closest thing to golf in my future is this forum.
aceofharts336 replied to aceofharts336's topic in Golf Talk
Another 10 inches this weekend on top of the 10 already on the ground. I think my wife is about ready for the snow to go so that I will get out of the house more! -
Where are you looking at buying clubs? Many places will do a fitting as part of an iron purchase . Personally, I always feel that it is important to get custom fitted no matter your handicap or newness to the game. If cost is an issue, there are some very good clubs out there that are made for players new to the game that are cost-effective.

I love using Scorecard on the course and I love tracking my stats. Instead of spending $499-$829 on the ipad, you could spend $30 for scorecard 2 and take your laptop to the course...LOL (that is actually a terrible idea).

So I live in Southwestern Virginia and we have received 28 inches of snow over the past 2 months. Another 1-2 FEET are projected to fall this weekend. The following weekend, another storm is also projected to blanket the area with MORE FREAKIN SNOW! The closest thing to golf in my future is this forum. And it's killing me!!! Does anyone else feel my pain?!?

Another option for you could be to buy the driver you want on e-bay (depending on make and model, I have seen some NEW for about half the retail value). Then, take your brand-new driver to your local golf fitter and have whatever stock shaft is in it replaced with the appropriate shaft. This has the pototential to save you quite a bite of money and you can satisfy all your driver needs!

Mizuno fans....sell me on their irons
aceofharts336 replied to finoky's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Great assessment. So many people buy clubs simply because of the name on the back (and if that's what gives you confidence in your game, so be it). My last fitting came down to two sets: MX200s or a forged set from Adam's golf. When I finally grasped the fact that my new irons wouldn't say "Titleist" or "Taylormade" on them, I ran with it and have never looked back. -
I must say that I am addicted to the career modes. The Challenge feature is intense...as I have nearly thrown my controller across the room numerous times (wife really doesn't approve of such viloence, LOL) :D.

Mizuno fans....sell me on their irons
aceofharts336 replied to finoky's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I bought my most recent set of Mizuno's last summer. The way the ball explodes off the clubface was one of the key features that sold me on my current set. My irons (MX 200s) are the perfect blend of workability and forgiveness that my game demands. I also hit the MP 57s side-by-side with the MX 200s and they were also great feeling irons; they just weren't for me. -
So I am in the market for a new wedge to replace my current 60* LW. I have always played a "standard" set (with the exception of a hybrid for a 5 wood). However, I have been doing a lot thinking about playing 4 wedges instead of 3 (because of the percentage of shots I hit under 150 yards in an average round). On average, I hit my PW 145y, 52* 130y, and 60* 100y. If I add a fourth wedge, I would probably add a 56* and still replace my 60*. What are your thoughts?

I must say that I am addicted to Tiger Woods '10 for the Wii. The motion plus is great, although I don't make my "real" swing. I especially love this game on days like today- looking out my window at 12 inches of snow coverage.

I am a Physical Therapist. I am beginning to specializie in biomechanical evaluation of golfers in order to determine physical limitations in golf swings (so that golf pro's can help adapt individual swings based on limitations). Working side-by-side with a golf pro, it is my goal to help make people better golfers!

Ok i have a lil problem
aceofharts336 replied to Titleist Man's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have found a few drivers that, to me, seem to hit fairly similar to the R9 460. Callaway FT-9, Nike DYMO (although it SOUNDS very different) and is being replaced by the VR, Ping V2 Rapture, and Ping G15/i15. Cobra is also coming out with the S2 that I have heard is the new flagship driver for Cobra.
