Are you consistent with your driver?
soon_tourpro replied to ronaldkuntoro's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
60% at average over the last 3 seasons. swing at 80%+ -
Most regular people dont use one. Average golfers dont have the ambition or desire to play good golf they are happy being a happy camper playing bogie golf. I met people who would basically need one but many belive in the swing theory, and search of the perfect swing, instead of checking their emotions and physiological management. I dont personally work with amaturs due to them are not doing the work. Pro´s have ambition and a work ethic and actually practice what one teach. Amaturs dont. and yes, I do coach golfers and other athlets. I still have to find an amatur that actually listens to what one tells them and do it. I told people stuff they drop 4 shots of a round but do they come back? No, they dont. Amaturs, to much work and to little pay. Not worth the hassle.

What Faldo did wrong was, first he had a belief he needed to change his swing to win majors. He did that and won majors, in that pursuit he lost his touch due to Leadbetter ruined him with the big muscle myth, when he lost his touch he tried to get back but failed BIG time. So what Faldo did was in short term good for him, in long term a disaster. He should have won 5 majors and got lucky at the last one. He also got a bad head and temper, he should basically had won 4 majors since Fanny his caddie managed to break his angry state when he was 2 back in the Open. So, Leadbetter ruined him with big muscle myth, Faldo was a thinking player with bad temper. all and all that made him loose his touch. When his touch was lost, he couldnt play great golf. He tried to get back using sport psychologist as Kjell Enhager but he failed with Faldo.

One last year. Was playing alone so ddint count in the books. made one 14 years ago on a par 3 short course but it was a rabbit killer that went in. Made eagle last year similar way, rabbitkiller that ended up in hole. Might use those more since they tend to go in.

Most hit the driver short, especially if they are a high handicapper and been there a long time. I had some kind of breaktrough last year and started to smoke my 4i hybrid past people in the group that used driver. and when you play hole4 from back tee at my home course a par4, its a 220yard carry to fairway or else it stops in the valley before it. Not that many that goes beyond it carry. I barely made it up but lacked the extra 10+ years to get a good roll. This year it be a different course ;)

How old are your clubs? (and related thoughts)
soon_tourpro replied to treebound's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I use beginer clubs still. 8 years old or so. 9 handicap. I will upgrade later during the summer. Its not the clubs, its the dude swinging them. -
220-240 last year, 9 handicap. this year it be longer, how much I find out when the courses opens up. golf is all about consistency.
-
he simple didnt have the head for hig level golf in the last years. He sought psychological help but they couldnt help him.

golfers can be competetive up a very high age. 26 is nothing. I plan for the national tour here and I am 46 and a 9 handicap. Advice is to know your own game really well and be consistent. and shoot really low especially on golf courses you never played before.

last year, old swing. not played yet. swing is improved to this year. anything else?
-
focus on making a good putt every time, it goes in or it dosnt, the game of golf persists no matter how good or bad one play. There is no techniques, its just keep doing the same good thing, next time. GL out there.

Not true. Hank haney sucks at teaching golf, he cant get barkley to play the game and he is ranked what top 100 trainer in golf? I do better than him without special knowledge about the swing. I improve my swing at age 46 to pro level quality. I picked up the game around 30, but havent played much since then, just the last 7 years. If I can do it, anyone can.

www.artdevany.com there is a lot of different variations but that guy is the best there is out there in regard to what to eat and working out. at 72 he is in better shape than everyone on this forum ;)

Talent is overrated. Practice isnt. Fixed my ballstriking this year which will carry over from 9 to scratch. got short game that is good, one advantage to not it it long ;)

Annika sorenstam become the best player due to increased fitness workout, strength, flexibility adding 20 or so yards in her distance. Consistency is going up with a better fit golfer. But, basically, you hit a ball, have someone drag your bag, and all you do, is hit a ball and walk and wait. No wonder they are fat and often unfit. woods have been doing weightlifting since a long time, he aint that bulky. strength means contractuion, not big.

Need to elevate my game...
soon_tourpro replied to Dr. Slice's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
You need a good pro that can work with you. golf forum isnt the best place to get things better. -
I seldom meet people making 250 and 280 is those people having scratch or really low handicap. My drives last year average around 220-240. I expect that to go up this year as I am working on technique, strength and flexibility. I also already made progress at the range even if its winter here, the ballcontact is much improved. I am aiming for 300 yards this year, but I take 260-280 any day. Most will try to enhance their distance, and seldom measure it using gps or similar. when they think they hit it long, they still are way short.(its a reality check for many) When you stand beside a long driver, and they put it out 100+ yards longer, you know there is more to gain ;)

Looking at my home course, the average result is around 90 and up in championchips. The reason is that golf is to though and complicated to master for the average Joe out there. I got a friend who played for 15 years, he standed still at 15 handicap for 10 years. He did practice, he do have time, but he simply cant play the game well enough. Most I would assume never take lessons, and expect a different outcome this time....they play The timing requried is to much for most people , and that is why the handicap and scores is high in golf.

The pro´s practice short game more than the long game. still they need to practice a lot as they cant keep it togheter for a round. Lot of practice isnt the key, its called smart practice, then you dont need to hit so many balls. if your able to have your shots with your swing, there is no need to practice it much. it will always be there. short game is to increase the accuracy so it is consistent.

Any drills for keeping feet quiet?
soon_tourpro replied to 9iron's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Go into a fairway bunker, and hit shots. -
I am a 9 handicap, was a 11 2008 and 2007 and drop 2 shot last year to current 9, I plan on playing qualification later in october for the national tour here. I plan to loose 9 shots before august and my course opens up end of may/early June as I live way off any summer. If all goes to plan I be qualifying for the european tour next year. I am currennly 46 years old. ;) Its doable, just not easy.

soon_tourpro replied to ericstamper's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Play prov1x myself, like the feel. topflite gamer is a good 3 part ball for the price.
