1 if i count my ace. I think my goal this season will be to eagle a par5 one way or the other.

I've got exactly one 300yd drive under my belt. We had it marked at 311. Golden golf club, BC, Canada, 11th hole. The only fade that i hit in 2 days there. Managed to hook 3 balls in a row into the Columbia river on the next teebox. Good stuff.

Probably a 3h in the 20-21 range. But you need to swing it first. Off turf & tees. Otherwise it's all a huge guessing game.

Titleist spinmilled. Top of the food chain. PING tour wedges are underated. Scratch also makes fantastic stuff.

Ebay. Look up sweetspotgolf. They list stuff every 2 days. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. Or check out torontogolfnuts.com or ottawagolf.com. Lots of clubs get moved through those 2 sites. If you have no issues dropping a decent $$$ amount on sticks maybe your best bet would be to go the oem fitting of your choice. Go to a TM fitting & get some R9s. Forgiving with a reasonably thin topline & a good resale value.

Hey man. I'm in Canada too & i just got a set of P3s from gigagolf for 153 shipped. Went throught their online fitting too. They're not forged & maybe not what you're looking for but there is some decent options out there. Question, if you're shooting 100 when you strike it well, should you maybe be looking into a design a little more forgiving than the 560mc? Or is it a long term game improvement strategy? The 560's are beautiful heads, just maybe a little penal for a higher capper.

Hell no. I use what i think will help me hit better shots & improve my game. If that's titelist blades or nancy lopez clubs matters not to me.

No 3's in your bag unless you're good?
chef35ca replied to drPheta's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The only people that say that are the ones that cannot hit something with '3' on it. I carry a 3wd & no driver. I hit it in the 265 neighborhood off the tee a few times last round out. I'm not a good golfer. I have my moments, but as shown last round my short game has gone very south. Apparently when you stop practicing that happens. Wierd. I don't carry a 3i though. There's no sense in deluding myself. Plus i don't own one. I have a 1 iron that makes it out every so often. I like to give it to my buddies at the range before we go out. It really gets in their heads. -
Somebody told you to add 3 woods to your 3 hybrids? Wow, that's nuts. I mean, how confusing can club selection be? Wouldn't 2 of the hybrids & the 7wd accomplish the same thing? & carrying a 3 & 4 wd would make no sense. If you have serious troubles flighting an iron, then more wood/hybrids would make more sense i suppose. Otherwise to avoid confusion i'd say choose either the 3 or 4wd, a 3h or 7wd & the 5h. Basically that gives you 3 wood/utility clubs that i would imagine will cover any gap you may find.

Hey kam. I just picked up a set of irons from gigagolf, a 9 club set for 153 shipped. Very forgiving & sharp looking. If you must go oem, go callaway. Their products are first rate & i've dealt with their customer service before which is far & away the best in the golf industry.

A lw or gw. A scoring club anyways. The amount of situations a lw can be used in to save score vs a 3h, u get the idea. Or having a gw for a full swing approach vs trying to choke down a pw or hammer a sw, same thing.

Nice pick up!

How Do You Hit 170 Yards With 7 Iron?

4 wood? Callaway's 17* strong 5wd? Probably looking at a 2h if you're going the hybrid route. Does anyone actually hit a 3h further than a 5wd? -
Poop happens. At least you got to play. Played with my fatherinlaw last week. He usually just schools me. Last year on my home course i beat him 90 to 93 from the tips. It's not real often he chucks up one of those. This time i lost track on the 12th hole of my score but it was safely in the triple digits while he put up a 77. Good players have crappy rounds some times.

Ha! Funny stuff. I don't think tgw.com sells 'king kobra' though. Also golfdiscount.com, golfsmith.com, etc. The r9 460's lifecycle is closing.

Confidence & course management both improve. Good shots breed confidence & vice versa.

John Daly. Ever seen him on 'playing lessons from the pros?' The length he takes the club back on every shot, even partial wedges is insane. Then he just varies how hard he hits it dependent on distance. Such a great player with really bad decisi123o nmaki0ng 22 processes.

The R9 460. Just a bomber. & it loves to go straight. Under 200 new now. That's the oem suggestion. There's also alot of really sweet component heads out there too. SMT is a favorite of mine, the db455, O2 & nemesis in particular.

I just picked up a 9 club set from gigagolf for 150 shipped. That was just irons & wedges. They`ve got some great deals on hybrid&iron; sets as well. If it`s a starter set might as well either go the hybrid mixed set route or a shorter set, like 5-w. Long irons probably aren`t going to help a beginner`s game immensly.

Should I match my 3 wood to my driver?
chef35ca replied to alomar123's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Never really thought about matching the driver to the fw wds. Mostly bacause the fw is designed to be hit off the turf & the driver off the tee. Totally different creatures to my way of thinking. Obiviously it`s very useful to have a 3wd that does double duty but i don`t see any reason to have it match the driver. I`ve always liked to try & match my fws though. Whether it`s a 3&5, 4&7 or 3&7 i`ve always like to have the same heads, shafts & swingweights. That has always seemed like a more important matching scheme. Having a deep faced 3 with an 85 gr shaft & a shallow faced 5 with a 60gr shaft would screw me up good. Same reason i like steel or heavier graphite in any hybrid i carry. -
No, you don't need a driver. Hit the teeshot that gives you the best chance at GIR's. 3wd, iron, hybrid, pw, whatever. When i see an older member at our course(there is a lot like this) with a driver, 2-3 woods & 2-3 hybrids in their bag for a course that from the tips is a shade over 6100 yards it makes me really question things. But hey, those oem company pension plans aren't free.

Anybody here NOT use any woods? Other than driver...
chef35ca replied to kingface12's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Right now i use my 3wd as my driver as i'm driverless for the forseeable future. When i first started playing i used a 10* driver & a 17* nickent 3dx ironwood with the st90 steel & my irons. Nobody told me long irons or low lofted hybrids were supposed to be hard to hit so i just hit them. Worked pretty well. Your setup looks smart. Might as well hit the clubs that'll put you in the short grass.
