Okay to wear black golf shoes when wearing shorts???
jc650 replied to Dub's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I wear white socks with black golf shoes while wearing shorts all the time. Im not out there for a fahion show. -
I have never had a problem but I dont buy from anyone that doesnt have a great feedback history.

I just played 18 with a yellow Z Star today and it was about 50 degrees out and I thought the performance of the ball was very good. I had no trouble holding the greens and I love the feel of it off the putter. To me its the best ball aside form the Penta.

In no particular order. Amstel light,Guiness,Blue Moon (a few different ones),Sam Adams(3 or 4 kinds) and Labatt Blue.

I recently switched over to a Machspeed driver and yes the sound is louder than my old driver. I was never a fan of Nike golf equipment but they seem to make quality stuff. The square head makes it a little easier to keep a square face at impact for me. Just like any equipment some things work better for some than they do for others. Square heads definitely worth a look.

Thankfully it hasnt happened to me. I would have been very upset to if I had to take it that far. IF I find a ball and theres a even remote chance that it could be someones I leave it. I know of this scenario happening far to many times lately.

I played a Penta and a Z Star side by side today. I like both about equally off the tee. I think the Penta feels just a bit softer to me and thats good. The Penta had a scuff from my first shot with my Callaway X Tour 56* and the Z Star hasnt shown any significant wear really. I found that around the green they both had simialr spin and check up really nicely. The Penta is really a great ball and I like it just as much or more as the Z Star except for durability and the fact that it doesnt come in yellow!

Im no expert but.........NEVER, I repeat NEVER take any golf equipment suggestions from this person again! Most of the other posts have explained why. Seems like you could drop the 21 unless it truly fills a distance gap between the 20 and 23.

Matt Kuchar because he seems to me to be underrated. Any young guy from the U.S. since there have been lots of stories and comments about us sucking.

Ball Spin and Handicap

I play 1 course with really narrow greens and they sure help me around the green and from 150 in. I had a sand wedge from about 80 yards the other day with my yellow z star , 1 bounce and stopped about 1 foot from the hole. Like I said, the greens are narrow and fast and im sure a distance ball would have gone right off or all the way to the back. -
That was bad luck for Furyk for sure. Phil still doesnt seem to want to be number 1. We might need a thread of "What if Phil never gets his game back"
-
I think Srixon makes great golf balls. I play the z star yellow and the tri speeds. The Z star stops as good for me as a pro v1 and the yellow makes it much easier to see. Another plus is that its a few bucks less a dozen!
-
Can Phil make a put over 3 feet???????? ugh. That seems to me to be the worst part of his game. He cant make anything.

Ive recently ditched the 3 wood and as you can see in my sig have gone to 2 hybrids. For me consistency was far more important than a few yards. Im not saying there isnt 3w out there for me, I just cant find it.

I go off about that. Golf should be fun not beating yourself up because of ego. Me and my 2 friends are all ok golfers but we dont play the tips and we probably shouldnt anyway. Nothing worse than teeing off at the course near my house only to see the group ahead of us playing the tips and 3 of the 4 dont reach the fairway.

85, my lowest of the year on a par 72 and my second lowest ever(84). My shot of my life was a 7 iron from 155 to less than 12 inches for what would be a birdie.
-
What about 1 of the high launch drivers that lots of companies produce. I think ping has a 12 or more degree driver. Best of both worlds big club head and a little easier to get into the air.
-
Srixon Z star yellow. I decided to treat myself to a box as I would normally play found or cheaper balls. I like the feel of these and ease to see them so much I may keep playing them. I only lost 1 the last 2 rounds and I can live with that.

I was debating between the two you mentioned almost, just not the TP version. I went with the Machspeed due to the adjustability factor. I went with the reg flex instead of stiff which was in my last driver. Although I hook the ball my setting is 1* flat and square. I am 10 x better than my last 2 drivers and easily 15 yards further on average and I hit like 11 or 12 fairways last time out. On mishits this club is great and I think the square head makes me a little less prone to get to handsy at impact. That said who knows how it will work for you but its definitely worth a look.

Good question, Im gonna use the next 18 years to try to get ready for the Champions tour.

Ive found dozens of balls out on the course while riding in a cart. Lots of times I end up walking a ton on the course anyway because Im nowhere near my playing partners shot so I just walk. Just because someone uses a cart doesnt make them any less of a person or any less serious a golfer as some of these posts would suggest. I agree that courses should let people walk if they choose to.
-
"its not true golf when riding in a cart". What a bunch of garbage. If Im out playing recreationally so what if I use a cart. Im not a pro, golf isnt my job. I do things other than golf so I play as fast as I can.

Ive read that a 4 wood is better for lots of amateurs due to higher launch and loft which would give a slower swing more carry. Of course if you have a high swing speed this wont matter much. Im so inconsistent with my 3 wood as compared to my hybrids Im actually thinking of a real low lofted hybrid and totally ditching the 3w. I like the low profile look of the new Cobra Rail F 3w.
