Name one? The problem with presetting is you run the risks of hooding the club and hittin low screaming hooks or flat out slices. I want my club in a neutral position at address and pretty much that same position at the top. If you preset then you are trying to keep that same degree of closed or open throughout the swing. The clubface must rotate through the swing so not trying to close it or hold it off a bit at impact will lead to even more inconsistent contact due to the fact that you are trying to fight your natural shape. If you naturally hit a fade then trying to hit a draw by presetting and using the same swing will be fighting your fade inclanation and vice versa. So you are actually going to be less consistent that way. Unless you Kenny Perry style it and hit only fades or only draws. A fade swing is different from a draw swing just like the driver swing is different from an iron swing.

I try not to open and close the face consciously but it opens and closes for everyone. If you believe in aimpoint (which i do) then you do have to get your hands back to a certain spot. That is the only way to control he club. Everyone does it, whether you are aware of it is another matter. You can't just turn back and through without controlling your arms and hands. As hogan said you must have educated hands. Also the knuckle down thing is not dependent on timing because, just like when you close the face at address, it doesn't have to happen right before impact. You just come through differently for the draw than you do or a fade. It is a feel thing, you know what it feels like to hi a draw and i shoot for that feeling. If you watch the pro's i can't name one that presets the clubface at address for a draw or fade. They are two different swings. If your swing path doesn't change then you won't get a very good flight on either the draw or fade, depending upon your "stock" swing.

I have the shanks....HELP PLEASE!
Weezy replied to RedCard03's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
While thats true you can't really say standing too close isn't a cause. Standing too close with an in to out swing is shank city. -
One major problem as seen in the above pic is that your head is leaning toward the target and is way out in front of the ball. Keep iy behind the ball and don't roll it toward the target. As Jack Niklaus said "if you can't keep your head still find another sport." So it is a do or die kind of thing.

You can't lump em together. SOME hybrids have the same flight as a long iron and are more versatile. Adams pro black for example or the pnts. Also i see some are complaining about the whippy shafts, you guys do know you can stick a steel shaft in em just as easy as an iron right?

Bought some Ping Eye 2 Copper Irons
Weezy replied to redsox98's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thats because nearly all premium forged irons have a layer of copper underneath the chrome. They aren't really copper, just copper plated -
Everyone plays with a loop to some extent. Noone takes it back and through perfectly on plane. Golf is not a game of perfect. Usually loop guys like to stand close to the ball which forces them to drop it down or fight over the top for the rest of their lives.

I pay 250 a month for like 6 months and get all the range balls i want plus as many rounds as i want and its a super nice course. However i live in golf hell for an equipment junky like myself as there isn't a golf store around for about 2 hours drive and the pro shop is minimally stocked. I gladly take the cheap golf however :)

Well it looks like you forgot to use primer. You can buy bear metal paint now that will stick to just bare metal as the name implys. Primer with a clearcoat works best but it won't be any fancy color.

I like the adams v1 pnt i have. Seems like i can hit it out of anything

Umm no like i said above you can watch bad golf all day every day for free at the local muni. Do you go there to watch it? This was like a boxing match where the opponents just ran around the ring to see who passes out first...u wanna watch that?
-
So you guys think that every great player in the world just had 4 off days at the same time? Not hardly. If you guys liked to watch that i will go down to the local muni and make some video tapes. Pretty much the same thing, i will even announce the action and call em phil and tiger for ya. 20 bucks each shipped!!! It was a catastrophe and i would venture to say the least watched major since tiger first joined the tour that included him in it.

For me i try to get my hands back to the ball as close as i can to how they were at address. If i fan it open on the backswing then i can't get it back to square. However i do naturally cup my wrist and can't get rid of it so i just try to keep the face sort of "looking" at the ball and that works out for me the best asi can turn it over or hold it open from that position at the top (ends up slightly open). I wonder what AJ and you guy's take on conscious opening and closing of the club face. I don't consciously do anything except turn my left knuckles down a bit for a draw or not for a fade.

They once suspended a guy on golfwrx for posting that he had just got off a suspension, seriously that is all he said. They suspended me for daring to nickname dick's sporting good employees dick's heads haha I may have deserved that though.

I think his hair is all the same length. Meaning the hair on top if you stretched it out would be the same lenth as the hair in the back, he just doesn't cut the hair down around his neckline. Its a pseudo mullet i suppose. Mullet hunter is my favorite part of the mx mags, think it was racer x that always had some awesome ones. My friend's dad had a serious southern style mullet with his son's number bleached into the long part in the back. It was awesome!

Ahh you are correct, my fault, i though for sure he said he was a lefty but he indeed said his divots point left.
-
Why? Every pro i have ever seen make a swing change had a period of bad play before they got it sorted out. Which thread are you guys talking about as I a new here to.
-
Your weight is to much to the right and your tilted that way. Unless you want to do the stack and tilt swing then that HAS to change. You have to drop your left shoulder at address and get your head behind the ball. Because of that lean to the left your whippin the club inside and having to bob up and down to get out of the way. You gotta change that setup first the stuff you talking about is a direct result and not the cause of your problems.

Taylor made adjustable drivers and hybrids
Weezy replied to summerman's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The adapter changes the angle of the hosel because the red part of it is slightly off axis. Just take one and roll it around on a table and it will roll like a warped pool cue rolls. -
Ahh another satisfied Haney student eh lol. Well to the op the stuff you say you are working on are fundamentals, I'm not sure how you were shooting in the high 70's low 80's(high 30's low 40's) without doing those things. My guess is that you were too steep with you head in front of the ball, which let you hit your irons pretty well but had no chance hitting driver like that, and now you may have taken staying back too far and are flipping at it? I would say see the instructor until it's ingrained or at least get a tune up with him because like i said that stuff you are working on is fundamental and something you have to be doing in order to hit every club well.

You would be a hypocrit because you don't honor the traditions of the game either, traditionally the game was played with actual woods and blades with a ball that spins like a top. You don't even dress like a "traditional" golfer. And your "classy" argument, would you actually wear your golf clothes to a classy place with a dress code? You may but you most certainly would not be allowed in. People and clubs are sheep and go by what the PGA tour allow, which is fine, but you can't berate a tour because they have a different dress code that doesn't suit the "traditions", or somehow disrespects, the game because by your own definition you and the PGA tour do the same thing!

Well actually the face angle is the major factor in where the ball starts so if your ball starts at the target but moves to the right (cut) then your most likely swinging a little out to in with a club face that is pointing at the target. You cant swing to the left of the target and have the ball start at the target and move right at least according to the new ball flight rules. Its impossible to hit a fade with a club face that is square to the target and an in to out swing as you are suggesting.

Well he doesn't have a mullet, i used to race mx and am from eastern ky so i am a certified mullet expert, sadly. Basically if he shaved only the top part of his hair, or cut it very short in comparison to the back of his hair, then it would be a mullet. He just has long hair all over unlike fowler or mcilroy who cut the hair after it gets to their neckline. I am pretty sure most of us can say our driver's have a million dollars in R and D also its just not advertised as such. I think phil said it cost something like 10,000 dollars just to make the forgings for his old x tour iron heads which doesn't take into account r and d for the irons at all.
