Agreed Erik, they would have had to practice that shot. I was surprised to hear Courtney say that she had seen it on TV and almost act like she had never hit that shot before. I for one was very disappointed that Liz left. She had some candor without being a B*tch (like Lori on the first show). But Lori seems to have become warmer even though that is akin to an iceberg melting a little bit. Very glad Sam did not lose as I agree with the other posts, that voice alone is velvet.

I think Greg Norman in his day was as big a jerk as they come. John Feinstrin pretty much said the same thing in 'A Good Walk Spoiled'. Greg's idea of the World Tour and the PGA Tour's World Tour are so vastly different that I cannot believe that Norman has a beef with Finchem over this and his "they stole my idea" theory.

I am trying to get my wife into watching it but she just cannot get into it. She didn't think the women were as hot as I did, no shocker there. She couldn't stand Lori and she did not think much of Courtney either. Really, I think my wife just hates cleaning the drool marks on the screen the next day.

LOL - You are so right with this one! I could listen to her forever.

We had a similar situation years ago where some guy who hit way right tried to hit OVER us while we were putting on an adjacent green. We told him that it was a pretty stupid move and he agreed.

No one tops Bri Vega in the looks department. Unless they are in the group in front of you.

Is the Master's overrated? Of course, Augusta is a phenomenal course and gorgeous with the dogwoods and azaleas in bloom and it is the first Major of the year. But given that the tournament field is only 94 players and it is the weakest field of any of the majors and weaker than many of the tournaments on the Tour, is it time to say that the Men of the Masters need to rethink their logic? Read this article on the only people that can contend at the Master's: http://msn.foxsports.com/golf/story/...ld-win-Masters I personally love the tournament but sometimes I have this thought in the back of my mind that the MOTM need to change the field. They changed the course, why not change the field now? This is not a thread to start a flame war either, just to make people think a little bit.

86 was easily the most memorable and best in my eyes. I thought that 98 with O'Meara and Duval was pretty good too. And 96 with Norman's collapse too.

I have never been a Greg Norman fan. More than likely due to his dubious pull out of Hartford back in the late 90s and his robotic swing not to mention his very inaccurate claim that Finchem stole the World Tour idea from him. Don't care for Sabbatini at all, not a big Baddely fan either. Jonathan Kaye who has not been much a factor on tour always seemed to have an attitude issue too. And I typically root against anyone wearing a white belt!

Always thought this oldie but goodie was funny: The Pope met with his cardinals to discuss a proposal from Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of Israel. "Your Holiness" said one of the Cardinals, "Mr. Netanyahu wants to challenge you to a game of golf to show the friendship and ecumenical spirit shared by the Jewish and Catholic faiths." The Pope thought is was a good idea, but he had never held a golf club in his hand. "Have we not," he asked "a cardinal who can represent me against the leader of Israel?" "None that plays golf very well," a cardinal said. "But," he added, "there is a man named Jack Nicklas, an American golfer who is a devout Catholic. We can offer to make him a cardinal; then ask him to play Benjamin Netanyahu as your personal representative. In addition to showing our spirit of cooperation, we'll also win the match." Everyone agreed it was a good idea. The call was made. Of course, Nicklaus was honored and agreed to play. The day after the match, Nicklaus reported to the Vatican to inform the Pope of the result. "I have some good news and some bad news, Your Holiness," said the world-class golfer. "Tell me the good news first, Cardinal Nicklaus," said the Pope. "Well, Your Holiness, I don't like to brag, but even though I've played some pretty terrific rounds of golf in my life, this was the best I have ever played, by far. I must have been inspired from above. My drives were long and true, my irons were accurate and purposeful and my putting was perfect. With all due respect, my play was truly miraculous." "There's bad news?" the Pope asked. Nicklaus sighed. "I lost to Rabbi Woods by three strokes."

I could never figure out what that guy was saying!! Thanks and you are all right, just an awful commercial. I am sick of seeing the Cialis commerical where the guy and his wife knock the faucet off the sink and laugh while trying to get it back on. Is Cialis supposed to make you an idiot too? Or are we supposed to think that the wife is saying afterwards "Wow, honey, I love the way you use the wrench on that broken faucet. You are so sexy, go take a pill!!! "

I did three in a round a few times. The one round that stands out the most was 45 on the front and 35 on the back with 3 birdies. Funny, so good and so bad.

I have played all the major sports and then some growing up, including years of ice hockey, which I found to be the most physically demanding sport. But I don't think any one of them compares to the difficulty of golf. So many more mental demands and precision required to play golf. My father in law who lives on a golf course said to me one day that "golf is the easiest game out there". He doesn't play of course. I laughed in his face and told him he has no idea what he is talking about. Of course he compared John Daley to a defensive end in football and said huge difference. I then compared Tiger Woods to a fat lineman in football. I do agree that football is more physically demanding but that is where it ends.

Always laughed at the "South American putt" that came up short (one more revolution). Had a friend I played with who would hit a nasty hook and yell "CUT!!" The same guy would be talking while we were waiting to tee off and we were not aware that another guy in our group was getting ready to hit. The guy teeing off cleared his throat to grab our attention and my friend says "Don't worry, your swinging is not bothering my talking."

I thought the rake end would not qualify for testing of a bunker, however if you stuck the handle in, that would be considered testing it?

I know their courses are set up tougher, but they are always groomed to perfection. Fairway grass is rolled away from the tee and the fact that the fairways are doubled rolled the week before a tournament makes for more roll. Also, how many times have you seen a ball hitting the crowd and staying right next to the green rather than bouncing 40 yards more down a hill next to the green? All that being said, I don't know how much I would benefit from all of that. It's just too mental for me.

89 yesterday. One of my worst scores in a long time. 41-48. Basically, it was 42 and windy out and my back tightened up so badly on the back 9, I could hardly swing.

The course I joined last year: http://bentwinds.org/ Nice place, down to earth folks, private and a very challenging layout. The best part is the a slow round is just over 4 hours. Major plus to play in 3.5 all the time.

My eagle was one of those miraculous approach shots on a par 5. Split fairway par 5 that makes you hit 5 wood off the tee to lay up. 3 iron second shot and then I had a 9 iron into the hole which landed left of the pin and trickled down the hill into the hole. Best part was that my Mom was playing with me that day so it was fun to have someone close to me see it. Just last week I had an eagle putt on the longest par 5 on our course and came up about 1 foot short. The most frustrating chance I had was hitting the flagstick with my second shot into a par 5 but hitting it high so that it knocked the ball away about 40 feet. Gave it a run but did not go in. The guy I play with regularly who hits the ball well, 8 handicap, has never had one and it frustrates him.

I prefer motrin and a LOT of stretching for my back pain. I have found in this off-season that stretching my hamstrings helps just as much as the Motrin but I am sure that is case specific.

I have to go with distance control. It is amazing to me how accurate these guys can be with that. They know how to spin the ball just so and hit it to a precise distance. I also think that the distance that these guys get with their clubs is something else. Bubba Waton hitting a 7 iron around 220? I know he is anomolous but that is just plain awesome.

Duval did have a smooth swing but he had that tendency to have his head follow the swing a la Annika. Always screwed me up to watch. I thought he had a good putting stroke too.
-
I always thought Elkington had the picture perfect swing, Els has the fluidness, and Woods has the machine like swing that gets it done. Then again, guys like Furyk make that loop work, Jack had his reverse C, Arnie was a corkscrew, so go with what works.

This is true and I find that the euqations used to calculate the slope and rating of a course in comparison to another course to be plenty confusing. The course I belong to now is MUCH MUCH harder than the course I played last year so I expect my handicap to go up but at the same time, I expect to get better as a golfer (well I hope).
