  1. I made a decision. I'll be getting one of these, an r11 fairway, and the new 2011 blades come next season. I'm such a club ho
  2. I just got it this Christmas and love it. I like how there is a different swing difficulty for everyone, the tour pro mode is pretty realistic and I shoot scores I would in real life, and at the other end of the spectrum the all play mode is super easy and I was able to get in 18 holes on 37 strokes! And, have you tried the Ryder Cup mode yet? Me and my friends have a blast playing it, and even played a 50 cents a hole round the other night (I won 2 dollars). It's a fun game and will keep my occupied during un-golfable weather.
  3. The supertri shaft is also the "for taylormade shaft" and is whippier and spinnier than the 460 shaft. I had the stock supertri and the shaft was garbage, so I upgraded it to the TP shaft (Fubuki) and it is a world of difference. The shaft is stiffer, spins less, launches lower, is more controllable and feels much smoother. If you are going to get and R9 and swing over 100mph than getting the TP version is a must.
  4. Yea, I had the R7 quad for a few years and it looks very similar to the SD at address. They can be had for very cheap and it is a very good driver.
  5. Let's see... who's gear would I want to use...
  6. I have to wear a hat, if I don't my long a$$ hair gets in my face and I can't even see the ball I'm trying to hit. I need a haircut and I was by hair cuttery the other day but GG is two doors down and I decided to go in and buy a new shaft instead
  7. I'm in hampton roads VA and on the 26th we got hit hard, like 15" of snow. There's still at least a foot in my backyard and it doesn't look like I'll be golfing in a while. I hate winter, I want it to be 85 degrees year round!
  8. Mine is not official, I just put 9.2 because my last 20 rounds averaged 9.2 over par.
  9. I've never had a lesson and never been fitted, and I shoot in the 70's about 30% of the time. My clubs do fit me well though, I'm 5'10" with a 34" wrist to floor, which is basically what off the rack clubs are made for.
  10. Ohh just got another gift card as a late gift from my uncle. Bought 10 targa tour gloves! that should last unitl next christmas
  11. I broke into an unofficial single digit index last month. For me I was really focusing on getting up and down more, so basically working on my short game. My driving accuracy was really bad and I improved that, but I think it was more of the short game that helped me the most. Now when I miss a green more often than not I can get up and down for par.
  12. Quote: You may like the feel but you don't "need" to use a soft ball at that swing speed, but like sean said, avoid any tour balls as you won't be able to compress them. Also, try the Top Flite D2 feel. It's a soft mid level ball with a great price ($1 a piece) I think you'd like them.
  13. A stiff shaft is generally designed for players with swing speeds between 90-105mph. If you club head speed is lower than 90mph, a stiff shaft will likely cause shots that are too low with not enough spin resulting in loss of distance. It will also make the club feel more harsh and "boardy" and can also cause shots to fade or slice. A regular flex shaft will be much better suited for a player with this swing speed and will provide optimum launch conditions resulting in greater disance, and the shaft will behave properly through impact squaring the clubface and making shots straighter and more consistant (many people beleive that a stiffer shaft than recommended will result in greater accuracy but this is often not the case).
  14. I also received one of our worst snowfalls in decades. There won't be any golf for a long, long, long time...
  15. So what did your wife/husband/parents/kids/self get you for Christmas? For those of you who posted in the 'Santa Claus' thread, did you end up getting what you were hoping/asking/planning to get? I got a new driver (early present to myself a few weeks ago), New Decade Multicompounds for all my clubs, a $50 GG gift card, and and 4 boxes of balls.
  16. Oh man. You couldn't have asked a more vague question. Use this site or google and search "ball flight laws".
  17. Ok update, I know it's not doing any good as you still can't see my swing but I'm just throwing it out there. The original problem seems to be gone, but I played today and yesterday and hit nothing but hooks. Duck hooks, snap hooks, pull hooks and even alot of push hooks with my driver. It sucks. Couldn't putt either, flubbed a few chips, even completly chunked a 5-Iron that went all of 50 yards. My game is in complete shambles. Good news though, for some reason I picked up a magic 20 yards off the tee, I'm serious. I've consistetly been hitting 1-2 less clubs on approach shots and even the GG simulator tells me I'm averaging 270, when last month I calculated myself at 254. I've made some changes that I guess are helping me hit further but it's irrelavent if a can't get it to go anywhere but left. ugghhhh....
  18. They both get slick if you ask me. The wraps feel nice and tacky at first but with the way my hands perspire they get real slick real quick. The velvets feel less tackyat first but don't get as slick as the wraps. I've had both and now use cords to avoid my driver slipping and taking one of my friends out.
  19. Quote: Poll: What factors in when choosing your golf bag? The clubs that are going to be in the bag The functionality of the bag Cosmetics, colour, etc All of the above
  20. I've had the Irons for a while, just got the driver used last weekend and the 60* was bought a few weeks ago everything else I bought at the same time this spring. It's all pretty new. I have used many other brands (both tried and owned) and I always preferred the Taylormade ones the best, so when it came time to get new sticks I skipped the BS and went TM everything.
  21. Thank you. I use TM clubs because I like the way they perfrom, they fit me well, and my name is Taylor. These clubs are made for me!
  22. I for one believe that strength has very little to do with clubhead speed. I weigh 110 pounds, one of the skinniest kids you'll ever see and yet I can swing my weight in mph. It's all about technique. I think anyone male over 14 years old with a good swing, good lag and a good impact position can hit the ball 250 regardless of strength and build size. Sure, other people are just wired to swing faster than others but I think the whole "get stronger" thing is bogus. Just my humble opinion based on experience and observation.
  23. I use Taylormade everything. Go ahead and flame me.
  24. This is exactly what happens when I hover, now I just rest it on the ground.
