Cutting Shaft at Grip End Question
casperino101 replied to juanrjackson's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
you could try just gripping down the club, i do this and get much more control over the driver. -
Lee deserves to be no1! Hes been the most consistant, and like some of the other posts say, there are only 4 majors and to be honest they are the luck of the draw! Hes no1 because he derserves it, ENOUGH SAID!

i dont know any, some accomplishment if they did, no time to practice, my wife has the face if i try to play more than once a week and shes not happy at that!
-
Well done on your +4, most courses play a bit shorter in the winter as well but for instance at my course i find the greens much more playable in the winter because they are more receptive! ( we have small greens, which in summer are very firm and you have to bump and run which means relying on the bounce) I much prefer winter golf, but as long as i am out there on the course i am happy!

yeah thanks, the long term goal is to get to single figures, but i do hit the ball far with the new swing so im hoping long term it will be the right way to go! just think i need to keep repeating it so i can be more consistant which will hopefully result in consistant lower scoring! I compleatly agree about jims swing, its so consistant, and as long as the end product is what you want, who cares!

Ive recently been struggling with my swing, think ive been swinging too flat which has resulted in me hooking the ball, both off the tee and longer irons! So i went to the range to try and work things out, so i started to swing steeper to see what results id get. What i got was a higher ball flight and it going arrow straight or a very slight fade! I was really happy with this so i took the swing to the club comp yesterday and shot 80! My golf buddy says the swing looks really steep but he was impressed with the results and quality of the ball strike! Does it really matter what the swing looks like as long as its consistant? Look at Jim Furyk, he has a ugly swing but gets good results! Your feedback would be gratefully recieved!

i have a cleveland wedge, 2 nike wedges and a vokey, the vokey is the heavyest out of them but i really like my nike sv wedge but its all a personal thing! You need to go someplace where they will let you test them so you dont waste any cash!

ditto above post, i have a sonocaddie and it does evrything, really good bit of kit, cannot imagine not having one, also lasers need clear line of sight where gps helps from anywhere even those wayward shot! Plus are you that good that a yard or 2 makes a difference? -

Colder temperatures and the effects on ball distance
casperino101 replied to rogerw's topic in Golf Talk
i play a much harder ball when its cold and don't seem to lose much distance although you do lose a little feel round the greens! -
all your dad said is very true! think golf should be relaxing and i know it gets stressful when your having a mere! Very good advice!
-
I do own a 60 but dont have it in the bag, i much prefer my 64, pitch it around 80 yards with full swing, 58 about 95 yards, i seem to be very accurate with yhe 64, can control the distance well but struggling at the moment because of all the rain weve had and ground being really soft so tending to catch it heavy!

Ive just been custom fit for some new ap2's, i've always struggled with low ball flight, with my new irons i have the KBS Tour stiff shaft and i am getting a much higher ball flight! I wanted the project x shafts but my fitter said that in his opinion the KBS was a better more consistant shaft and having tested them myself on a launch monitor the results were there to see so i went with the KBS shaft and im not disapointed, they also give excellent feel! I don't think it will keep your ball flight down though!
-
i think you will be fine with your current grip, its whatever feels comfortable as long as the setup is right, and like you say, your getting good results!
-
all good ideas, i'll try and video me in action and post it to see what you all think

At the moment im really struggling with my game, struggling to get off the tee and seem to be hooking most things, I'm sure its to do with tension in the swing because it no longer feels smooth! any ideas folks?

thats a snow man then [ for an 8 ], ive just eltoned it, when leavin a putt short!, say to your partners after hitting a good shot to the green, why not come join me on the green fellas!
-
Agree with some of the other posts, i avg about 240 to 250 and play off 16, but its all about putting your ball in play! The old saying goes, '' driving for show, putting for dough'' round the greens is where you pick your shots up!

i have only played a couple of well know worldwide courses but bendinat de golf in spain is really good! Also played the brabazon at the belfry which with all the history of the ryder cup makes this place very special!

your mate sounds loke a tool! like you said it takes a few seconds! All my buds are always askin for yardage and most of the time i give it without them asking! just sounds like a sore loser, plus he should be concentrating on his own game then he might break 90!

Most embarassing thing that has happened to you on a Golf course
casperino101 replied to mx273's topic in Golf Talk
i was in the bunker at the front of the 9th green where there is a halfway house behind the green, i took a swing of the club and caught the ball thin only to see a load of old guys diving for cover! 1 man says to me, dont worry mate, its happened to us all! i could have died! -
i use a scotty cameron newport 1.5, what a putter, lovely roll and feel!
