Are these the same guys with the 15 inch cups to make putting easier?  Pretty ridiculous imo.  I was even joking about this with a guy in my group yesterday, the majority of most people's problems are probably everywhere before the green.

Kind of agree on this... When I first started, putting was the easiest part, now somehow it has become the hardest...lol. Let's not damage the course for serious golfers lets just find ways to make game more inviting. 1 - beginner times; I like this. Cheap rates, but expect to be playing with hacks and 5 hr rounds. When I first started playing I played on an executive course, nice and short, but just importantly only beginners on it and I felt comfortable. Not fun trying to learn and getting ran over by better golfers, or worse, having them upset behind you or hitting at you. 2 - Family Times on executive / par 3s: how about a family rate of like $30 for a family of 4 to play 9 holes? Maybe could even be set up like putt putt where they have free clubs you can use. 3 - beginner tees / kid tees: well... I get there are "women's" tees, but how about either not calling then that or making even shorter ones for kids? Women's tees are still too long for children. And men, no matter how bad, always want to play off "men's" tees...

Time: Too many working people don't have time for eighteen or even nine on a regular basis. On one course I play you could go 10, 11, 18 and get some golf in on the way home from work in a half hour.

Cost: Club manufacturers should make a good, entry-level, eight-club set for under $400.

Pitch-and-putt courses: Nine-holers with holes between 40 and 100 yards. Good for setting the hook in newbies.

Youth: Discounts on range balls and green fees. Do private courses have caddies anymore? I did this for two summers when I was 13 and 14. Golf Big Brothers/Sisters.

Tricking up the course is the answer to what isn't the problem.

I cannot imagine cutting a 15" cup into a green. That is something that would play heck on the crew when it came time to move it. Getting it level and flat. That would turn a 1.5 hour morning job into 4 hours

Reports are that it takes no longer.

    • Day 133 (25 Apr 24) - Worked with the Divot Board today added a piece of cardboad behind the ball to help reinforce ball first contact. Contact improved through the round.   Added grandson's football goal posts about 10yds out to add a good start line visual Good session today.
    • Day 120: 4/25/24 Full Speed Spectrum training session. Low energy today and my speed was lower than normal. Will see what I can do on Saturday.
    • Day 541, April 25, 2024 Ten minutes after lessons. Still not caught up, but should be by tomorrow evening.
    • Playing irons only may lead to some short-term gains, but you'll want to at least practice with the driver if you ultimately have some decently good goals.
    • He plays from 68.3 / 124.  A combo tee setup of normal mens and seniors.   I play from 69.7/127.   He left after taking a triple on 14 and then leaving.  Which plays to what I think his plan is,   He doesn’t stroke on 14 but would have to take bogey for non completed holes on the way in.   Maybe that’s giving him too much credit, but he found a way to add 4 shots to his score over three holes so….     I looked up his last 20 rounds in GHIN and he has a lot of rounds at easier courses (rating and slope) that are higher than his normal rounds at home.   Since I mostly have his front nine score during the match (36) to go on, he has three nine hole scores at our course posted that are 41-43. I wrote the whole thing up to the head of our golf association who runs all the tournaments.  Our pro is not involved officially in the tournaments because the golf associations are separate from the club.   He’s pretty well known for this, however I was pretty shocked at how well he played carrying a 15.   I think eventually they will do something, a lot of people have complained.  The golf association threw someone out a couple of years ago and it was a three month situation where the guy retaliated.  They probably are hesitant to go thru anything like that again.  That is a rather crazy story I might post about later.
