Congratulations Trevor Immelman who somehow managed to make Zach Johnson seem interesting. FOR THE LOVE that guy is boring as bats%@t!

Here's a question: did Gary Player suck up ALL the personality of EVERY South African golfer? Ernie Els: BORING. Goosen: snooze-ola! COME ONE COME ALL: Watch South African golfers not smile for 4 hours. Later, we will watch GRASS GROW!

I think if Immelman stared at his line any more before his shots he could have given JB Holmes a run for his money.

Meanwhile Sirjohn and the rest of you Tiger haters are complaining about too much Tiger. I would rather watch him miss putts anytime than this golf coma.

As far as I am concerned, Augusta National got what they deserved for creating an over-difficult course: a BORING Sunday.

Thank goodness this Masters is OVER!

Congrats to Trevor, he seems like a really nice guy, and he played like a true champion. You cannot manufacture drama, and this Masters simply wasn't that close.

If you want a contrived dramatic finish, just turn the channel to NASCAR. They have roughly 37 races a year for your enjoyment, and would be happy to drop a yellow flag for no good reason to bunch the field up for a dramatic finish.

I still enjoyed this Masters immensely.

no i really enjoyed the Masters. To think your way round and manage a course is what winning a major is all about in my view..not booming drives all over the place and getting lucky. Immelmann was very impressive in the way he handled the the pressure and held everybody else of.

But im with you on one point though, he played so slowly and was incredibly deliberate, more so than usual..although i recognise the fact that he was trying to stay composed throughout.

Tiger was not firing on the greens this week, but he cannot win all the time. He came second with his c game. If there had been 20 instead of 18 holes in the final round TW would probably have won..as everyone else withered away.

Still, 5and a half hours in a two ball with no delays and people to find your ball is way too long. Im surprised they werent put on the clock in all fairness- that would have been slightly amusing.

Anyway, i found this year's Masters really interesting, even though TW was not at the fore- and a new star has been born in Snedeker..his ball striking is like warm honey and he smiles a lot which is nice to see.

Life is sweet for Trevor, £625, 000 in the bank and a very pretty wife to talk to at night.

I agree. Why don't any of the South Africans have any personality whatsoever outside of Gary Player. Come on guys. Show some fire. Give me one freakin' reason to cheer for you other than the fact that you are nice guys with good games. Another glaring reason Tiger is so popular. He shows emotion. He is not just another robot.

I'd much rather see a reserved type like Trevor than a loudmouthed idiot like Rory Sabbatini. Did you see his wife at the Par 3 presentation? She looked like Courtney Love on crack.

So let me get this straight. They are playing a major in gusty, baked out conditions on a course where you have to place the ball in proper areas to give you a chance at par, let alone birdie, all the while keeping mentally steady to win one of the most coveted championships in the world. How happy go lucky would you be?

Players were going backwards today. Immelman shot 75 and won, so there wasn't much to get fired up about. The biggest flare was Tiger's long birdie at 11, and even at that he didn't get all fired up like he has in the past. Grueling conditions I assume does that to players. The only thing I can figure that hurt todays final round was the wind. Players were constantly waiting around to see what the wind was going to do or when it would die down -- making for a long afternoon.

Do you really need to say "on crack"? Isn't it implied that Courtney Love

IS constantly on crack?

4 players break par on the last day, 1 player in the top ten.
Nice day, bit windy, but WTF?
What kind of tournament is the Masters now? It used to be about the best players in the world on the most beautiful course in the world starting the year by taking golf to another level. The tournament to recommend to friends who aren't really interested in golf.
Not a bad brand image for a tournament, yea?
So what do they do? I can imagine a presentation in the board room a few years ago.
"The best golfers in the world are winning our tournament, and making lots of birdies, and even eagles, and especially on the last day when millions of people are watching. This has to stop!
Let's make it longer, much longer. Lets grow rough. More bunkers. Harder greens. The US Open, now THAT'S a tournament."
This year was the dullest Masters ever. Winner shoots 75. Golf has to be the only sport in the world who's administrators purposely tone it down, dull it up, and keep it sick.
The forward tees today might be a sign of some concern, but we'll have to wait another year to find out if they even know they have a problem.
Bring on the big two, the US and British Opens!

"That's Golf!"

What is he supposed to do?

1. Spit in the cup on 16 2. Do a Woody when he's got a 6 inch putt? (chea*) 3. Arrive with scratches all over his face a al JD? 4. Stare at someone in the crowd after missing a shot? Get real. I actually enjoy watching how players concentrate - and I'll say something else. I am glad not to have a champion who seems to think that God is more interested in helping him win a golf tournament than saving a few lives somewhere else. Do some research and see how popular Gary Player REALLY is in South Africa. You mght be surprised. ( I;m not saying he has no personality, but it's the nature of it)

What are you talking about? Immelman was -11 going into today with three rounds in the sixties, and a couple others within a couple strokes. Conditions today were abysmal contributing to the gruesome round. Dull, sure, but try to keep some perspective.

I disagree, I don't find Immelman, Els, or Goosen boring. In addition I didn't find today's round boring. I know from reading your other posts g-funk13 that your one of the Woods worshipers

, and just because Woods didn't have what it takes to win that doesn't mean you should be basing the guy that kicked his A#$.

Like you I enjoyed the Immelman's preformace at the Masters.

The whole A game, B game, C game is a bunch of . The fact is Woods played to the best of his ability this week and it was inferior to the game of Trevor Immelman!

    • Absolutely. It's definitely something that took me a long time to learn. One of the things I kept telling myself during my tournament (out loud, mind you) was, "Stick to the plan." There was the temptation to cut off doglegs with the driver because I was hitting it well, at one point on #15 I actually walked to the tee box with it in my hand. I was like, wait a minute, this is not the plan. Put it back and hit 6 iron.
    • I think that's the same sort of issue though. Changing your game plan because you're playing well is not, generally speaking, a good idea. Playing a game to get you used to having a good score will (hopefully) help you learn to handle that situation better. So maybe next time you're playing well, you'll keep doing what you were doing. When I was about 19-21, I would play many times and find myself about even through 11 or 12 holes. Then I'd fritter a few shots away due to silly mistakes and end up shooting 4 or 5 over for the round. I did that a LOT. Then one day I didn't do that - I was even or so through 11 and wound up shooting -2 for the round. After I did that, I did it a lot more. I was probably improving somewhat over that period because I was playing a lot, but my mindset definitely improved as a result of that one round. It was like mentally I bucketed myself as a mid-70s shooter, so that's what I shot. Then after that one round I could break that down and mentally became a high 60s to low 70s shooter (on my good days at least). That was quite a freeing feeling. I do wonder if I'd have got better faster if I'd heard of the ideas to play front tees or the FIG round that Padraig talks about here.
    • On second thought, it’s 16.7. Lock it in, @StuM! 😜 I’ll send you my index when it gets closer.
    • I’m sure others will play some rounds in between, too. I’m only joking about myself though. My index can only go down in the next five rounds. I’m expecting to play at least five rounds before this outing.
    • DAY 4:  Rain. 😒  Played "Around the World" on the putting mat (15 min). 🙂
