Length of the tee: Taller tee over shorter ones?

I played today but the two times I used my driver, I wish I didn't. I had standard sized tees. However, I usually practice with the oversized tees. It must have been a mental block but to me, at address, I had a hard time with the shorter tee (equator of ball was level with the center of the face of the driver). I usually practice with tees with the equator of the ball at the level of the top of the crown or higher.

I play tomorrow but will look to see if they sell the extralong tee.

Has someone had a similar experience?

Yeah I feel that with the size of all these new drivers, I tend to have more confidence when using the taller tees. There has been a time or two that I have ran out of them and had to settle for the smaller ones and it just felt abnormal to say the least!

I use the 2 3/4" tees and I tee the ball on my driver so that the ball is in the center or just a bit higher on the face of the driver. I never tee it up so that the middle of ball is at the crown of the driver.

With my TaylorMade R5 'N' Dual TP I use the pink tower tees (cant remember size, will look) - but half the ball is above the face of the driver - that is the way I was taught how to play golf.

I prefer the 2 3/8 tees, teed up so the it is a fingernail in the ground. But, due to the big driver/tee it up high on the face theories, that size has been phased out by most tee manufacturers. I have a pretty big stock piled up on the 2 3/8s, but don't know what I'll do when I have to start using the 2 3/4... Perhaps just adjust.
