I have been wanting a new 3-wood for a few months and have been thinking of ways to explain to my wife why I NEED one. I have tried a few and have been "shopping around". I have even thought about breaking it on purpose and telling the wife it "it just broke? ". Well, ever since I got real serious about getting a new one... my old one started pulling off great shots. It is definately NOT me.... last week I heeled one that started way left, hugged the tree line, hopped off the cart path and rolled up just short on a long par 5 I had no business going for.

Has anyone else finally decided to replace a club just to have it start performing better than ever? I think I'm going to start checking out some new wedges and putters pretty soon.

Yes, to a T.

I was dying for some Nike hybrids, and was using Maltby (small company in Ohio through Golf Works), as I was shopping around all of a sudden I can't miss with these clubs. It was still a good idea though - when you make solid contact with these Nike's it feels like hitting the sweet spot in baseball - smooth as butter.

The day I need to explain to the wife I need a new club is the day I get a new wife ! if you work and take care of your family the last thing you need to do is break a golf club so you can justify to your wife you need one. wow

golf first, wife second

They will beat their swords into golf clubs and their spears into putters. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Old Tom Morris 2:4

Hmmm that didn't work with my driver...I ORDERED a new one...Actually know that i think about it.

My dads rapture i was using broke, then his tommy armor broke, and now I have to use a driver that is older than I am. I think its so worn out and hitting so badly that It's just saying "GOD WHENS THE OTHER DRIVER GONNA BE HERE I'M TIRED"

I have to say yes. I have not been hitting a club good and convinced myself to get a new one and since then hit it good. The only downside to that is that it will pass and you will be hitting it badly again. It is a mental thing.

first of all... my wife has been working while I was going to law school... so thanks anyways but I think she's a keeper. The 3-wood I have is only two years old so she probably would ask why I NEED a new one... and she has every right to ask since she helps pay the bills.

2nd... it was a joke... I would never break a club just to get a new one, I would rather give it to someone who may use it.
