I am interested in buying a laser rangefinder for this coming year of golf.

I have never used one nor do I know anyone who has. I have a few questions and wanted to put it out for discussion on this forum.

I have my eye on the bushnell - pro pinseeker w/slope with the heafty price of $449.00. The reason for the model with the slope is I play hilly courses up here in new england.

If anyone has used a rangefinder w/slope or without, I am asking for the pro's and con's on this type of equipment from users.

I play at a 7 handicap.

thanks...

Ted

The slope portion is not allowed under USGA rules at all (though you can use it in practice rounds, etc.).

I suggest you read this while you ponder the advantages...

I have the same model you are looking at and must say I love mine. I have only played twice with it so far. It sure seemed much quicker to jump out of the cart, aim, get distance then walking and looking for a sprinkler head. A few months ago my playing partner had a Nikon model and it was very hard to pick out the flag and get the proper distance. This Bushnell model is as easy as it comes. The name “Pin Seeker” is very appropriate. I will also say that the review from the link posted on the previous reply is what helped me make my decision last month.

I have the bushnell pro sport model which cost under 200.00 and is good up to 200 yds for the pin and 800yds for trees or the back of bunkers.Great for par 3's and layups on par 5's.I change batteries twice a year and have it now for 3 seasons with no problems.

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
