and probably in a good way. Have you ever seen a woman running through the house swinging a Burner Driver nearly wetting herself over a golf club?

It's our anniversary and she got a new 13* Burner driver for the occasion!

You guys don't know what you're missing having a wife who is completely ga-ga over the game of golf!

I'd tell you what happens after a round of golf, but this is kind of a family type place! Somehow, playing with the guys isn't much fun anymore!!!

My wife (of just over 2 months) is trying to get me to teach her to play ... my buddy is in the process of teaching his (they have been married only 6 months) ...

I am going to take this post that you have here andtake it to heart, and show it to my buddy ... all this time I thought that if I taught her to play I would have to spend MORE time with her ...but this new possibility intrigues me ...

Ummmm, might want to spring for some lessons? That is, if you WANT to stay married? LOL My wife and I might not have liked each other much if I had taught her! Search for some other threads on this topic!

This is what I will do ... I will teach my buddy's wife, and he can teach mine ... Did I mention that his wife and I used to date ... so that's probably not a great idea.

Damn, lessons for her AND ME ... uuugh!

Ok, so maybe I am young and nieve ... but I don't see the problem with teaching her. I can teach her to putt, chip and pitch, and then gradually increase the level of her swing as the shots get longer ...

I understand (and completely agree with) the fact that "wife not knowing how to play" = time away from the wife ... but what if I get that extra round because she wants to play ...

I don't know, maybe I am missing it ... why is teaching your wife a bad thing? Why could it end in divorce? With mine it is more likely that it will end in her fustration and she won't want to do it again ...

Exactly! All you newlyweds, you guys are so cute still wanting to spend time with your wives.

JK The only problem with teaching your wife to play is now you have to play with her. Not a problem if she is on the LPGA Tour, big problem if she shoots 120 and wants into your Saturday money game with the guys.

I understand that you want to be together with her and as newlywed, obv. But the main problem is, if its not working out as she expects it , and you teach her some errors in the beginning she has to fight over a long time (which can happen very fast) - you will get the blame.

This can be a Catch 22 for those of us married awhile (12 years in my case), love our wives dearly, but also use golf as time to "get away".

I definitely want to get my wife into the game (as an OCCASSIONAL playing partner), but my first try at it years ago was an unmitigated disaster.

Maybe when the kids (7 & 3) are a bit older ...

One thing I learned real fast about playing with my wife was to not make any suggestions - if I say anything its my fault her ball went in the water.

The guys in my groups never mind if she plays - she will also be the first to step aside if we already played once in a week and someone else wants in the foursome.

My wife took up golf seriously 2-3 years ago and I've probably done most of the teaching. There have definitely been some tense rounds (which is horrible for my game), but the good outways the bad. We both try to golf a lot, sometimes with each other, sometimes with other people. She has no issues with me going out with the guys, and she plays weekly in a ladies league. Personally, I'm very happy she took up golfing. For me, it means a lot more golfing, and to top it off she even wants me to get new clubs (hence the AP2s this year :D)...she got the old Nikes.

    • Why should SuperSpeed get 3x of Stack's profits? I get the part about SuperSpeed wanting damages sustained as a result of Stack, but I don't get why SuperSpeed feels that they're entitled to both Stack's profits and damages.   Does anyone know/think SuperSpeed actually has a case here?
    • https://static1.squarespace.com/static/603d222df4a6a57df7ef3e29/t/663cdba5d89e3a1848dab8d1/1715264422455/US_DIS_ILND_1_24cv3749_d34676497e293_COMPLAINT_filed_by_SuperSpeed_Golf_LLC_Jury_Demand.pdf The full complaint is there, but  basically, SuperSpeed (SS*) is claiming the Stack System (SS*) Stack System’s [sic] produces inflated metrics later used to, [sic] mislead and deceive consumers. Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
