Well, I'll go ahead and post this topic while I'm thinking about it. Last year, all the talk on the PGA Tour was about the Big Five; Woods, Singh, Goosen, Els, and Mickelson.

This year, that hasn't been the case at all. It's been Tiger and everyone else as far as I'm concerned. All the Big Five guys are struggling a little other than Eldrick himself.

Anyway, here are a couple questions to get you started, but be sure to read Thrash Talk tomorrow morning.

1. Which golfer in the top-5 will make a stand to challenge Tiger this season, if any

2. Which golfer outside the top-5 will make a run at entering the top-5 before season's end?

3. Lastly, is Tiger's complete domination boring to anyone else besides me?

1. If anyone will, it'll be the Goose. Vijay doesn't pose a threat as far as I "feel", Phil's a bum, and Ernie is still struggling with his knee and swing.

2. I hope Adam Scott makes a run. I'd really like to see him play better, he has the swing and the ability, once his mental game comes around he'll be up there.

3. Not at all.

None of them will. I'm predicting an off year for all of them. They may get some wins, but "challenge" Tiger? No. The numbers is too big. That number? 18.12. Singh's #? 8.84. I think you know what I mean.

2. Which golfer outside the top-5 will make a run at entering the top-5 before season's end?

David Toms may crack the top five this year. I think DLIII has an outside shot at it, too, especially if he wins The Players Championship or The Masters (or places high in both). I'm predicting high finishes for DLIII in both, with any wins in the two more likely coming at TPC.

3. Lastly, is Tiger's complete domination boring to anyone else besides me?

Not to me. Domination isn't winning by one shot. This isn't 2000 again. Not yet.

I'm thinking that Vijay will come around later this year...but it will be hardly a 'stand'. I think that Tiger will win another 2 majors and we'll see a couple non top-5 golfers hoist the other 2 major trophies.

2. Which golfer outside the top-5 will make a run at entering the top-5 before season's end?

Erik took it right out of my mouth. Toms is my #1 guy to take a run. He's so stinking solid and has the best game from 100 yards and in. I'm rooting for DLIII to do the same but I just don't have confidence that he will.

3. Lastly, is Tiger's complete domination boring to anyone else besides me?

Not here.

Fairways and Greens.

How about this:

Luke Donald thinks he has what it takes to oust Tiger from the No.1 spot. Seems a bit on the ridiculous side to me, maybe coming off his confidence high after the Honda Classic. I mean... he's only won two tour events and sure... he played well at Augusta, but come on Briton... better than Eldrick Woods?

Well, he did say "IF." That's always a big if.

If Luke Donald does win some majors, he could sure make a run at being the best in the world. The odds are against it, but he was just saying "if" in this particular situation.

Heh, I hope Luke doesn't play in the same group as Tiger in an upcoming tournament. Tiger might shoot a 55. You know how he gets when someone fires him up with a little challenge or two.
