Just wanted to hear what people have to save about the offset in putters. I know that in irons there is a tendency to hit hooks. What about putters? There is usually half shaft and full shaft offset. Is the offset good for right handers with right eye dominance?

Great question....I'm waiting to hear the experts answer.

I didn't really care for offset in a putter until I began using a forward press. At that point it seemed very natural.

To get your hands in front when striking the putt. Not sure about the roll of differing eye dominance!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Never thought about the eye-dominance thing, although it's a big deal in my other sport (bowling).

I'm right-handed, left-eye dominant. I cannot stand putters with double-bend shafts. Everything has to be either straight-shaft or plumber-pipe shaft for it to work for me. I can't get lined up otherwise.

ya its all just preference as far as i know. over the course of the past year or so i have really worked on improving my putting and i tried a ton of difference putters and shaft styles. i was putting with an offset odyssey at the time. i got a heelshafted yes! tracy II and love the way it setup, unfortunately my dad kind of took it from me when i got a scotty, and i dont think he will give it back. the next putter i got was a heel shafted studio design 2.5. i love the way it sets up also, but the rounded back of the putter kind of throws me off sometimes. my reason for saying all that is because it is all your preference, which ever style allows you to put better is what you need
