Wondering what everyone's "cutoff" point is? I think mine is around 40 degrees. As long as it's sunny and not windy, 40 or so isn't bad at all.

I played this past Sat and it was 35 when we started and warmed up to 45 near the end. I used my winter gloves for the first 5 holes and then switched to my normal glove. I layered it up and was never really uncomfortable. I think I could probably go a little lower

For me it's anything below 50. I just don't care to fight the cold weather that much. Of course if I played better maybe it would change my mind, but being a 30 handicap and playing in the cold doesn't really help my game.

My golf partners and I often playj down to 20-25 (Farenheit). 'Cold' is a relative term, depending on whether the sun is shining and if it's windy. As long as I wear several thin layers (never forgetting warm socks and knit cap), I can play at low as about 20 (as long as the wind is not blowing more than about 10-15 MPH). I like the many challenges of golf and I think weather is one of them.

Always wear UnderArmor Cold Gear (shirt and pants), wool sweater (or sweather vest) and windproof jacket, wool socks and hat and thick pair of pants (corduroys seem to be the best for keeping warm). As long as you vary the number of layers of the above for how cold, you'd be surprised how cold it can be and still be comfortable golf weather.

I will say that I played yesterday in 50 degree weather for the first time with just the Under Armour brand shirt and that thing is a lifesaver. I have the pants that match and I will definetly use them next time. Amazing how warm that stuff keeps you.

Is that Under Amour Cold Gear similiar to long/thermal underwear?

On a related note....I used my new Winn Xi7 grips for the first time Sat in the cold and they were great! I didn't feel one sting in the hands. Soft but firm at the same time. Great grips!

it really depends on if there's wind or not. if there's no wind or only light wind, i can get out in anything as low as 37 or so. 35 is definitely too cold for me, but i can deal with temps slightly below 40. now if there's a strong wind, 45 is probably the cutoff.

Yes, it's much like that but skin tight and not as thick as thermal underwear.

UnderArmor Cold Gear is similar to thermal 'underwear' as traviswise stated, but the biggest difference is it's not cotton. Cotton based thermal underwear does little good when active in cold weather (due to how poorly cotton handles sweat).

Adidas, Reebok and Nike also make good cold weather technical under garments. I've also seen stuff in Bass Pro Shop for hunters and fishers that is the same type of stuff. The main thing is that it's not cotton and it's better if the base layer is a compression garment (aka skintight).

If the course is open I play.Nothing wrong with a frosty morning below freezing apart from the ammount of Brandy I consume.
Played in the Snow last winter, orange balls, hand warmers and half a bottle of the formentioned hard stuff.Had great fun especially on the greens, when we were putting the balls were the size of mellons by the time they got to the hole

I played yesterday morning and it was extremely cold. Wind chill was mid 20s. The biggest problem was trying to put a T in the frozen ground.....nearly impossible on a couple of shaded T-boxes.

Yes, it's much like that but skin tight and not as thick as thermal underwear.

They also have Heat Gear for summertime. Great products.

Wore the heat gear playing softball and the cold gear at december football games.

All of our local courses stay closed if it's below freezing/frost on the ground. So we have that theoretical limit on how cold is too cold...

In spring probably around 45.
In fall I have a hard time to motivate myself if its lower than 58.

Just yesterday the first snow fell and golf seems so far away.
