1. What's the problem with a flat swing? I have a flat swing (getting steeper with lessons) and everyone I talk to says it's bad, but cannot explain why.
2. I'm hooking my 3 wood...only my 3W. It's only when I'm trying to hit a straight shot or a slight draw. I can play a (power) fade with it, but everything else is a hook. I'm hitting irons fine, wedes fine, and driver fine, but I can't figure the 3W. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Hmmm, I'm under the impression that you want a flatter swing. A steeper swing puts more stress on your back and doesn't have the power potential of a flatter planed golf swing. Some pros have a steeper backswing, like a Jim Furyk, but I think all of them bring the clubhead down on a very flat plane.

Who is telling you flat is bad? What is their reason? I'm pretty sure flatter is better.

I have yet to purchase a 3-wood, so I can't answer that one!

I would agree with this. Unless you are flat on everything. Some clubs have better results with a steeper swing like your wedges, scoring irons and hybrids. Even those have a slightly different angle of attack for best results.
