Ok, im having a little problem.

Last year i bought Nike clubs (got them for a really good price at golftown) and picked up a SQ Sumo 5000 driver. This winter I got fitted for clubs, and bought a Ping Rapture driver.

Here is my dilemma. I had them both at the range today. An average good drive with my Ping is about 245, but im hitting straight drives, slight fades, but the average is pretty good.

Now, the sumo is a monster, and im averaging over 260 at the range with it.But im getting anything from a slice, to a bad slice with it.

Which would you go with on the course? Is the extra distance worth it? Or should I keep the Ping in my bag.

Im only carrying 13 clubs, could I bring both? Does anyone carry two drivers? Seems like overkill considering its the least used club in my bag. but the Nike
is a significant asset on two holes on my course.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

Seemore Si-4 Black Nickel Putter

If you only carry 13 clubs then by all means, carry that second driver if you want to. You might get some funny looks but who cares? The cliche rings true. There are no pictures on a score card. Not of the way you play the hole nor of your golf bag.
If it where me though, I'd pick the more predictable/shorter ball flight and add another wedge to the bag.

Thats kind of what I was thinking.

And I am looking for another wedge. But I spent so much on clubs in the last year, my girl might kill me.

If it wasn't for the fact you only carry 13 clubs I would definately say go with the straight one, but depends how much of an advantage you get on a few holes to carry 2 drivers.

The other option is to find out what the difference between the clubs are & find out why 1 is straighter than the other.

I have deliberately lost distance on my driver to get more accuracy. I used to try & kill every tee shot & get 265+ on about 11 of the 14 holes I use a driver, trouble is the other 3 were lost or out of bounds. I now hit around 245 but hit most fairways, I much rather a 5 iron from the fairway than an 8 iron from the trees or rough.

Definately go with the straighter one. Low scoring is all about consistency not how far you can hit a ball.

I am big headed and i love it. Try it yourself and see how much your game improves.

I carry 2 drivers a lot of the time and my Taylormade I hit shorter and straighter but the Nike is further but not as straight.
