I've been dreaming about getting some new wedges for a few months now and I have settled on the Nike SV Tour. I hit these at a golf store and really liked the look and feel, and they come a bit cheaper than some of the other options.

Currently I have an old 52 degree and an old 56 degree. Should I buy a 54 (12 bounce) and 58 degree (10 bounce) to replace these two?

Or should I buy a 60 degree (6 bounce) and keep my other 2 wedges for now?

I say get the 54 and the 58 degree because they replace any of the shots that you might have with a 52 and a 56, plus they have more versatility with regards to shot maknig.

Driver: Callaway Big Bertha Diablo 9º

Wedges: Cleveland CG14 50º, 54º

i think it just depends. if you go the 3 wedge route, you have to get rid of another club in your bag. can you do that? maybe the 3 iron?
i personally love using only 2 wedges for that very reason (so i can have an extra longer club in my bag)

I just upgraded my wedges and took the 56 out completely. Went to a 50/54 because I'm seriously thinking about a 2 iron hybrid due to me playing more and more from the tips

I agree completely. I was avid subscriber to Pelz and the more wedges the better theory, until I realized I never got good with any of them. Dropped the gap and the 64 in favor of two more options off the tee and from 230+, my 5 wood and the 19 hybrid. My short game actually got better. I have now gotten completely comfortable with my 54 from 115 to green.

Give thought to how many strokes you have from 100 yards and in. Then decide if you should add a 60 deg lob wedge or not. I say go with the 52, 56, and 60 and learn how to use them well. That will cut far more strokes off your score than a 2 iron/hybrid (or a 3 iron for that matter).

You are going to have FAR MORE shots from 120 and in than 220+ yard shots. Or lets just assume you're going to have a lot of 220+ yard shots, how many of them do you think are going to be on the green? I'd say go with more wedges, bro.

3 wedges i think is a beter choice
i have had quite a few situations i wish i had a 60* in my bag....
im currently looking for a 60* Vokey Oil Can Wedge to fit my arsenal

i dont carry a 3 or 5 wood, so i still have room
i think 3 wedges is more beneficial than another wood/metal or hyrbid
i average 285+ off the T

It all depends on your game. If you hit the ball a long way, chances are you will have a large distance gap between a 48 PW and a 56 SW. You might want to stick with the 48-52-56-60 make up, or to eliminate having to carry 4 wedges, go with the 48-53-58 set. I have noticed that a 58 degree LW is all 99% of golfers need.

I've experimented with lob wedges from 58 all the way up to 66 degrees, and I recently took the 62 degree LW out of my bag. I have a 53 SW and 58 LW, and that covers all distances and shots for me.

If you play on soft wet courses or take large deep divots, go with more bounce. If you pick the ball clean and/or play on hard fast conditions, try wedges with less bounce.

Any retailers that sell Scratch Golf stuff for cheaper?

There are some on eBay, but I'm not aware of retail shops selling them. Because they are custom clubs, I would guess that they will want to keep it that way.

      Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.

      Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.

      Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
