Has anyone here ever read/used the book:“ The Keys to the Effortless Golf Swing: Curing Your Hit Impulse in Seven Simple Lessons
by Michael McTeigue?

I have been struggling big time this year and even with seeing the pro again, I still don't get it . I've taken lessons in the past too and terms like, "quiet hips," "weight shift," "weight transfer," blah, blah, blah just didn't make sense to me for some very odd reason. By trade I'm an engineer, so you'd think mechanically I'd get it; but I didn't.

I bought this book (it's only 97 pages) and in an instant, it all made sense somehow. No, I'm not gonna go out and shoot 4 under now ... I mean the mechanics, the swing, the rotations, the timing and all that jargon now makes sense , because this book was SO simply put; so easy to understand.

The premise of Michael McTeigue's instruction is simply: "Swing the club, don't hit the ball." His instruction and lessons and drills taught me (once and for all) to swing "loose, relaxed" arms on an arc, not swing my arms at the ball trying to hit it.

I reccommend this book if you're struggling to find timing, rythm, consistency or just want a refresher on the basics of the swing mechanics. In three nights and after hitting a 100 or so balls into my backyard net, finally something makes sense. I hope to improve my consistency, my ball direction and hit more fairways and slice/push less iron shots. I know this is a serious work in progress all summer, but I wanted to share this with everyone today!
I make all my own clubs:

Good deal!! It's always a great feeling when someone explains something to you and it just clicks and makes sense! You will probably have many more moments like this with your golf swing.
