These are some great balls! I tried a 2 ball trial pack this weekend and shot my best round of 5 over. Great distance, great feel, and excellent greenside abilities. My new ball for this year.

I have tried these balls but didn't think much of them. They were no longer than similar balls from other manufacturers nor did they spin as much, durability was pretty good though. At that price they are worth a trial for those who haven't used them.

They are great balls. I have shot my best ever score with them and the feel of them for me nothing else compares. My drives were 20 yards further and straighter than I have hit in a looooong time. I used 1 ball the entire day today and not a single scuff or anything on the ball. Very impressed with Nike One Tour

What ball were you using before that you hit your drive 20 yards further with the Nike One Tour?

How are these compared to the older Nike One/Platinum? Does the "D" stand for distance?

No crap! He was using a gutta-percha.

The One Platinum wasn't quite as soft as a ProV1 - I never thought it had quite the soft feel.

The new Tour and Tour D line up more with the ProV1 (Tour) and ProV1x (Tour D).

I have used Titleist NXT, DT Carry, other cheaper Nikes, Callways, & they even outdo the Bridgestone e6+ I have by 5-10. I haven't used the Pro V1's brand new, just ones that I have found on the course so I can't really compare them to those. But the One Tour D does stand for distance yes. Here is what the ratings are (claimed by Nike) on the back of the box.

Driver Distance:
One Tour: 8.5/10
One Tour D: 9.5/10
One Vapor: 10/10

Feel:
One Tour: 10/10
One Tour D: 8/10
One Vapor: 7/10

Driver Spin:
One Tour: 8/10
One Tour D: 7/10
One Vapor: 6/10

Short Iron Spin:
One Tour: 10/10
One Tour D: 8/10
One Vapor: 7/10

The Nike One platinum and black versions tell their specifics on their boxes as well but I don't remember them off the top of my head lol. I went with the Tour over Tour D because I don't really need any extra distance (as claimed by the ball) and I love the soft feel.

My friend who played with me yesterday even noticed a difference because our drives are usually neck and neck but yesterday even his best ones were 10yds or more short of mine. To say the least, I was very impressed with these balls and I believe they are the ones Tiger Woods uses?

Your swing has improved.

Balls are VERY strictly regulated so they don't do what you're claiming. Unless the spin rate is much different, allowing your launch dynamics to get closer to optimal, balls simply don't "go further". The number of very bright scientists on the design team at Callaway, Top Flite, Titleist, Nike, etc is astounding. But the PGA tour won't let them make balls that have higher launch speeds. They can all do it and you occasionally see intentially "illegal" balls out there, marketed as special "extra long" balls, but the Nike One Tour is not one of those as it has been approved by the USGA and R&A; testing.
To say the least, I was very impressed with these balls and I believe they are the ones Tiger Woods uses?

No, Tiger woods uses custom prototypes that combine various components of these balls. It's a perk of being a sponsored pro. Heh.

They are great balls, but they simply won't add 10 yards to your drive, above and beyond maybe improving the general launch conditions of your drives. (and maybe a placebo effect of feeling more confident)

I love the Nike One Tour balls, Golf Digest's graph shows that they spin just as much as a Pro-V1 and launch higher.

Problem is I don't like the price. :)

The One Tour balls are on special right now at many stores. $59 for two dozen.

That's cheaper than comparable Callaway balls.

They should be on sale until 8/30/09 (if I read the sticker at Dick's right lol).

It could have been confidence or something to do with my swing being better but I am not going to complain as long as I am playing better with this ball

I haven't seen them for sale yet around here but I'm keeping my eye's open for them.

Do you have a Dick's Sporting Goods around where you live? If I remember correctly they have been on sale since around the 13th or so and the shelves at my local Dick's were almost empty when I picked mine up so everyone must be getting them

Nope, no Dick's within probably 200 miles of here(rural part of South Dakota). 30 Miles away is a Wal-Mart. The local courses have all the popular balls but they're not on sale.

that sucks. You could always go with eBay they sell for about $25-$30/dz usually on there. If your golf courses are like ones around here the prices are absurd for balls

Yep, it's the same here. ProV1's are about $55.

    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
    • Of course there's not a simple or knowable answer here. But the whole Caitlin Clark phenomenon is a nice example IMO. Suddenly there was wall to wall media coverage and national attention and... the women's tournament got similar ratings to the men's and much higher ratings than the men in the final four. With every indication that there will be some portion of the uptick that remains going forward. And there's the whole element that Sue Bird brought up. That basketball needed a pretty enough white superstar guard. One who looks like the "cute little white girls" that describes most of the soccer USWNT that's been able to achieve much higher popularity than any version of women's basketball, which is dominated by black players and none of any race who could be described as little... I do think women's sports are in a good place to start taking off more though. It's really only in the coming 5-10 years that the majority of girls will start to come of age with post Title IX grandmothers (as in their grandmothers were allowed to be serious athletes). I don't follow men's or women's basketball much, but in golf for sure the women's tour has gotten much deeper over the past 20 years and only looks to keep going in that direction. I've heard the same about women's basketball. And the patriarchal attitudes that socialized girls out of sports and everyone out of women's sports fandom aren't gone but have def diminished.
