Dear SandTrap,

I recently came across HIM again and attempted to put your suggestion
into action (putting his driver where the sun don't shine). I found
this to be rather difficult proposition though, seeing as though he
already had other objects up there as well. Funnily enough, the
largest of the objects up there was his head (hence, therein lay the
reason why he was unable to hear his driver). Removal of his head
proved to be extraordinarily difficult. Nonethless, by using my sand
wedge (placing my weight forward, and gripping down for extra control)
I was able to extricate it by using it as a kind of pick (I have since
purchased a new sand wedge).

Needless to say (and as you predicted), the sound of his driver going
up his rear orifice was quite different from the one produced by it
hitting a golf ball. Although putting your suggestion into action
wasn't at all pleasant, it has proven to be a boon for lovers of
tranquil golf courses and driving ranges in my area. Many a owner of a
loud driver can now be seen walking with protrusions from their rear
ends with all of them expounding the virtues of a peaceful game of
golf.

Here's looking forward to your future insightful suggestions and
pieces of wisdom, :)
Binh. (President of the International Anti-Loud Driver Association)

PS - I've heard the MacTec NVG and it is nothing like what I heard
from this guy. This was an extremely high pitch 'ping' that resonated.
If I can, I'll get a recording and you'll see what I mean.

I was dumb enough to fork out some dough for a custom driver - ultra thin face 460 "illegal" titanium driver. I hit my old TM 540 XD 20-30 yds farther than the Illegal club. The noise it makes is so shrill that it hurts! I have let others on the driving range hit it - no one likes its performance and everyone detests the impact noise. I have tried several shafts to zero improvement although the noise is always there. When the range is empty I pull it out and try and cave the face in by swinging as hard as I can and force myself to listen to the painful noise to punish myself for being dumb enough to buy this POS. -d

I now know that HE comes every Wednesday and Thursday evening. Hopefully, I will have a recording next week for you guys to 'admire'

I actually got a closer look at the thing and it looks as though its either a Titliest or a Cobra. Never heard a loud Titliest though so I'm fairly certain that its a Cobra.

Honestly though, on cold winter nights that thing 'shivers me timbers' The resonance is just incredible.

I have a Cubic Balance Driver that I love to hit and it has a clank that is different from all drivers I hear. I have the off set 10 and 1/2 degree and I bought it years ago up in Washington state at the Tall Chief golf course. Worked it off by being a Ranger for the Pro there. Love to hit it!

The NVG2 is significantly better in this regard.

Say what? Quoting helps...

The only thing I ever said about the FT-3 (I own one now) is that it sounds like a fungo bat. No, it's not loud.

I have a Zevo compressor that I got a few years back. Talk about loud!? Sounds like hitting a hammer against a hollow steel wall. It would actually hurt my ears hitting it and everyone at the range would always stop what they were doing and look over!

Im going with any King Cobra driver.......sounds like a marble bouncing off a tin roof......

I know just what you mean. I hit my cousins Cobra 440 SZ at the range a few months ago. It was, by far, the loudest driver I have ever hit. I could feel the sound vibrating through my ears. My dad said that he could hear it from the parking lot. I had to stop after about a dozen balls. It was literally to loud for me to hit.

Driver: HiBore 9.5°, UST ProForce V2 67g

I just got a new Cobra Speed series driver. I didn't think it was particularly loud at all. I didn't really hear any difference between it and my old Cleveland Launcher. Maybe I don't hit it hard enough to make a loud noise.

I must just be used to my Titleist, but I hear time and time again how loud it is. It's an amazing club, it would be hard to get it out of my bag!
