Re: Drills for proper hip/shoulder turn?
For my own sake I'll try and explain how I include this drill into my swing.
-at setup I make a fist with the thumb pointing out.
-I then measure that distance from my belt buckle to the top of the club.
-I call that distance the slot.
-on the downswing my intent is to drop the club into the slot.
-my target is 4:30 on the golf ball (actually 7:30 but 4:30 for you righty's)
( a good drill for this is set a target point and swing towards that rather than looking at the ball)
-at contact my hips have turned which squares the clubface and contact occurs at 3:00 and in the sweet spot.
-after which my arms rollover or release, the clubface closes and I finish with the club over my opposite shoulder.
