Mike Vick gets signed to your team. You still root for them? I am a lifelong Denver fan and if Mike Vick was to sign with Denver I am done with them.

I say that he has served his time and therefore he has payed his debt to society and will defintely never do it again. If my team (steelers) signed him I would still root for them and feel like that got an excellent athlete. Just my 2 cents.

I guess everyone should have the right to employment but I only consider myself two options. I can either root against him on another team or stop watching my team if they draft him. The animal cruelty that he partook in is just too much for anyone in any organization I root for to think it would be a good idea to sign him. The things he did couldn't have been fixed by a year in jail and an additional couple months house arrest. He is almost 30 anyway, I guess we will soon find out if he can still even play.

Well seeing as linebacker Ray Lewis was involved in a fight where two men were stabbed to death and he is still beloved by fans, I believe that Vick should be forgiven. Lewis only ended up with a plea bargain and probation.

Yes, and as soon as my team is playing a team with an animal name, I start making the expected jokes.

I would absolutly still root for my team. He did his crime, he did his time. If he can help my team win, bring him in. If you say you won't root for your team, you are not a true fan. Did you boycott the Broncos when they drafted Clarrett? How about when they had Travis "30 different babies from 31 mammas" Henrey?

Haha that was pretty good.

I agree, part of being a true fan is sticking with your team no matter what.

Thats part of my problem. Henry was a disgraceful pickup. I am a true fan, and have a right to not root for my team if they sign a guy who got joy from electrocuting animals. I have been a fan forever but there is a line. If Vick killed someone in your family and your favorite team signed him would you still be a fan. Don't tell me about being a true fan and preach what you preach without saying yes, I would.

Did Vick kill your dog? If Vick killed a human being like he did dogs, he would be on death row himself so you arguement is silly.

Vick will never be a super bowl caliber qb. Why? He is past his prime.
He was past his prime when he was hurt in preaseaon by ray lewis or was it bart scott....? Anyway his legs were his weapons and a few lob passes to crumpler.

PLUS he played in a crappy division so his game reels would always look good.

Put him against the eagles defense on the playoffs and its choke city.

Ditto for the Ravens Patriots or the greatest team of all

Yea STEELER NATION.

In the playoffs the teams become a bit better and the flaws come out of a scrambling qb.

He goes to the raiders or cowboys.

I would still root for my team. Donte Stallworth killed a man and served 24 days. Mike Vick was involved in a dogfighting ring and served 2 years. Does anyone see what's wrong with the judicial system?

I love animals and I'm getting a lab for my son. I don't condone what Michael Vick did but sadly, it's part of the southern culture. Just like when I go back home to Puerto Rico and see a cockfighting arena, yes, arena, across the street from the Ritz Carlton. I would rather eat these chickens than see them maim each other but that's me. For some, it's their reality.

Vick did his time and lost everything. Are we not a nation of second chances?

Donte Stallworth didn't kill that person on purpose. He also never lied about what happened. He lost his license for the rest of his life and has a very long house arrest/probation. He didn't get off scot free.

You can't really compare the 2 cases. We are a nation of second chances. That is why I would welcome Vick on my Eagles.

Vick did his time and that means he gets to be a free man. It does not mean he 'wipes the slate clean' for what he did. He still has to live the rest of his life with the knowledge he did that, and has to accept that people will judge him based on what he did. "Paying his debt to society" = doing the time. He can never repay society for the sick torture of those animals - you cannot put that toothpaste back in the tube.

A child molester can server his time but I won't welcome him with open arms.

You aren't seriously comparing Vick to a child molester are you?

He involved in the killings of thousands of animals. The comparison is not that off. Someone that is sick enough to do that is sick enough to do many other things. Signing a guy with a mind that sick as someone will probably do (Al Davis), shows me that the ownership and management do not agree with my philosophies on life.

On death row for murder, talk about a silly argument. What country do you live in?

    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
