Here's my list

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ping invent the following:

1. Cavity back irons 2. Heel-Toe weighting 3. 460cc Drivers 4. Cavity back blade putters ...personal bias for Nike and their invention or at least innovation of square head drivers!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ping invent the following:

I wasn't aware that Nike first came out with square heads. I thought the idea of a square head club first came out with "metals" which we don't use these days.

Ping with the sharp groove Eye 2 irons for sure, and didn't they also start laminating woods to make them more durable? Those tricky guys! Let's not forget about the computer and robot technology that has allowed us to fine tune things like MOI, sweet spots, launch angles, etc.

I'll say metal woods for durability, consistent graphite shafts for seniors, and soft spikes for the sake of the greenskeepers and consistent putting for us hackers. Everything else is debatable as far as who invented what. Look at some old irons - really old - and you'll see really deep spaced out sharp grooves.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ping invent the following:

Ping didn't "invent" heel-toe weighting. They were the first company to make a name for themselves doing that in putters and then to apply the principles to irons, but you can look back to clubs from even the 1800s that had "heel-toe" weighting. Same for "cavities" if you have a broader definition that includes allowances for the limited tools available to clubmakers a century ago.

Also, the Rules of Golf established 460cc drivers as the limit WAY before any manufacturer came out with any, so nobody really "invented" them first unless you want to give the USGA credit. Callaway's Big Bertha was the first popular driver to be made of lighter materials and have a larger clubhead, so they'd probably get more credit than Ping in the "size" department. 1, 2, and 4 are all related so much they're nearly the same thing.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I think these have been big:

* Titanium used in driver
* Fairway Woods made of metal not wood
* Urethane multi-piece balls (Pro-V1 is king)
* Anser style putter (every company makes one)
* WATERPROOF Golf shoes
* Modern lightweight Dual Strap Stand bag

There was quite a thread on this once before - I think I remember I used to take my bag for granted until I read people point out the dual strap bag "revolution".
In the bag:
905R 9.5° - UST ProForce V2 65R
909F2 15.5° Titleist Diamana 75
909H 19° Titleist Diamana 80
Zing 2 3-PW Vokey SM48.08 @ 51° Vokey SM56.11 Unitized Leo

Without any hesitation, the Ping Anser.

Next would be the use of metal and titanium in driver and fairway heads, followed by graphite shafts.

Sorry, I see the post specifies 30 years. Ping Anser was invented in 1966. My bad. I think one of the worse modern-day advents is definitely the power golf golf cart - designed for an already obese society.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
