I was wandering through my local Golf Galaxy and Dick's stores and it looks like they've upgraded their simulators. They now show spin rate. The only other difference is that they are much nicer visually.

Are these any more accurate than the old version? Or essentially the same 'toy' as before?

Mine has always shown spin rate. I would guess just a new toy as for the one at the GG near me its yardages are off.

My GG has always had the spin rate and the yardages are horribly off. Also Dicks owns GG and when Dicks buys used clubs they sell them at there GG store thats closest to them. My Dicks has a Simulator but im not sure if you can rent them out. Every sim i have ever hit in was different then the other. Theres nothing realistic about any sim i have ever hit in.

I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.

I have always been very sceptical about the data on the one in the stores, I was in the PGA superstore in Phoenix last sept and it read that i was hitting a 6i 175yds my normal yardage for a 6 is around 160, when I got back home I mentioned it to our local pro and he said that is common in some stores to exagerate yardages on the simulators to boost sales.
