Hey guys

Just a quick question about custom fit and lie angle on putters!! On my ping i15 i have been custom fit for green dot which is 2 degrees upright but they dont have any putter custom fit available in store! Ive noticed on ping and scotty cameron putters i can do it online! If my irons are 2 degree upright would that mean that i would need my putter 2 degree upright??

Thanks

I believe the fit for your putter is independent of the fit for your irons, since the swings are so different. I'd guess you're likely to be upright, but I would think a separate fitting would be necessary if you want to be precise about it.

Hey guys

Not necessarily Mazza.

For example, all of my irons are standard length with 1 deg upright. I always putted with a 35 degree putter until 4 years ago when i was fitted. Turns out a needed a 34 degree putter with 1.5 degrees FLAT. So irons and putters are two totally different worlds in terms of correct fitting. Note i'm right on 6' tall.

not exactly.. In Ping irons i need Silver dot lie (4 or 4.5 degrees UPRIGHT) but in my putter i need it a degree or two flat. You hold a putter much different than an iron. An iron should be pointing straight into your belt line. A putter should be more parallel with your forearm.

My i15's are white dot (3° up) with 0.25" longer shaft and my Redwood Answer is 34" Blue dot (.75° up) so mine are no where near

Which stores have you looked in?

I recall seeing a Ping putter fitting display at Nicky Lumb in Bristol so time ago, and it's possible that a store like American Golf would have a similar facility. Failing that, a local Club-Fitter would be worth a call.
