Hi,
I've read many threads about eventually getting lie anlges, and possiby lofts, checked and many adjusted after constanly hitting forged irons from a mat. I have hitting my new Mizunos at the range a few times already. And with not much time for golf lately, I will be going a number of times more. I have also taken 3 lessons, at my pro shop, off the mat also. And plan on taking a few more. Hopefully by summer I will be playing actual golf. Anyway, I am not a divot taker, and sweep the ball. If anything, learning to take a very shallow divot with my long irons. Would anyone be able to guess if my irons are pretty safe? For the little amount of times at the range(I think) this season, would my lie angles still be ok for next year?

You shouldn't have to worry about them for at least a year of golf. I've had my MP 60s for three years now and just got the lie / loft fixed on my 5 - PW. Of those six clubs they only adjusted 4 of them back to factory standard.

I get my self checkout out by my club fitter (local pro) hitting balls off a strike board with strike tape on the sole of my clubs (noramlly hit a PW and 6i) to make sure that over the year any swing changes made have not changed my lie, I have not changed and been 3° upright and .25" longer shaft for all 2 and half years playing

Hitting off a mat will certainly make them change quicker but it also depends on the type of course you play. If you regularly play a hard pan course, chances are it will affect your loft and lie quicker. Lots of variables. I'd make it a practice to have them checked once a year before the season starts. That's what I'm doing with mine.

I have a set of AP2's and had them adjusted 9 months ago, 2 degrees flat... I had them readjusted last weekend and each of them were off by more than 3 degrees already. The people at the golf shop said that the first time you get them adjusted they go back more quickly, each subsequent time they are adjusted they stay longer and longer... They also said that leaving them in the car on really hot days can make them more susceptible to going back.

I went in because i noticed that i was missing virtually every shot to the left by 15 yards at 150 yards out. After taking a look at my set up, it was very obvious that the sole of the club wasn't sitting flat on the ground, thus prompting my trip into my golf shop. They did it right there in front of me, and I was out the door 15 minutes later, and $20 poorer! I went strait to the range, and my misses were by no more than 5 feet either side! My handicap will thank me for the adjustment. I would say take them in and just have them check to where they are in relation to standard. I assume that you've been fitted to know what you need them to be in the first place?

Mine are 3 deg upright, I had no idea that leaving them in the trunk could cause the clubs to creep back to standard. Thanks!

Honestly I don't know if that's true, but the people at the shop i was at mentioned it. Also i should say that i have hit these clubs off a matt a total of 2 times since owning them. I think pounding balls on the range can have the same impact just less quickly... the dirt is pretty hard at my range as well though!

I don't believe that's true. We're still talking about steel here. Forged may be softer than cast but we're sill talking about a pretty darn hard metal. I seriously doubt a car trunk would get hot enough to remotely affect the loft/lie angle.
