Depends how much free time you have and what kinds of cities you like surely.

If it was case of work and hotel room with no free time I'd pick whichever city offered the best hotel. Doesn't matter how great the city is if you're never "in it".

Definitely Seattle... some great golf courses nearby... Sahalee, Washington National, Chambers Bay, The Olympic Course at Gold Mountain just to name a few.

Seattle also has decent nightlife, MLB Baseball, and of course you can't forget Pikes Market.

Cheers, Allan

  • 2 weeks later...
I like Minneapolis enough (never been to seattle) It is a nice city, friendly people (I would find it hard to believe that they are nicer in seattle, but again, never been) clean city, lots of great restraunts. Golf in Minnesota is pretty popular. It has MLB with the twins (although so does Seattle and Philly) so you could catch a baseball game one night.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Depends on the time of year. I'd choose Minneapolis for July/August---it's probably perfect that time of year.

I'm a Minneapolis native, and you'll love it hear. The weather is WONDERFUL and has been for the past few weeks. Plus a TON of good/cheap/public courses. Make friends with someone who has a boat and get out on Lake Minnetonka or walk around Lake Calhoun (Great area in Uptown).

Post some specific questions and I can be of more advice.

And Minneapolis has a BRAND NEW stadium. Which is gorgeous, and the Twins are (were) playing well.
