taylormade burner ht irons

i was thinking of buying the taylormade burner ht irons that are exclusive to dicks sporting goods. i currently have the ping zing irons and i am wondering if i will notice a difference if i buy these irons. their 500-100 for some deal plus if u trade in ur irons you get more off so it will be a good deal. would the difference between the taylormades be noticeable to my old ping zings?

The only that I can think of is the HT gives you a much more loft ball flight. So you could get more spin on the ball if you are at that stage. Also I think the burners are a little more forgiving than the zings are. So i would say do it if you have trouble getting the ball up in the air or if you need a little more club face support. All in all both are nice clubs. I would go to the shop and ask one of the workers if he could tape one up for you so you could try it out. I know for a fact that Dicks will do that for you. I assumed the HT stood for high trajectory, but the guy working at Dick's claimed that was not the case. Anyone know what it stands for and what makes them "special"?

He is wrong. It does stand for High Trajectory. They are burners with a shaft with a low kickpoint only available at Dicks. This is what the Taylormade Rep told me.

I just went to the Dicks SGweb site, i didnt realize there were so many different versions of the burner irons. Im shocked to see that they no longer carry r7 irons. They have to be probably their most popular irons ever, maybe available new elsewhere just not at Dicks SG. My irons are very similar to r7's and thats why i got them and I like them.

I have a set of these Irons, I liked them but for a 12 handicap you wouldn't get much use from them. I used them from about 22 hdcp down to 16 then you want more control on distance etc. If I were you I would look at the burner TP's, I'm using nike split forged but I really liked the tp burners, hope this helps, the only club i miss from this set is the approach its a great chipper
