Haven't seen too many threads about putters but boy the new high-tech mallet putters are very cool.

I'm guess I'm a little late...but I finally put a new putter in my bag. I've been playing the same Ping Anser 4 for almost 20 years. It's always been great...and putting is the best part of my game...so I figured why change.

But I had a chance to buy a clone version of the TM Tri-Ball and man I love it. It just keeps moving down the line and puts a great roll on the ball.

Only had it a couple of weeks so...we'll see how long it lasts but so far, so GREAT!

Anyone, else love their mallet?

One of the greatest putting runs I ever had was with a Fat Lady Swings (which has been reborn by MacGregor in an "improved" version). It was a face balanced putter, as most mallets are today. I still have it, actually.

It was just awesome on Bermuda greens. But after awhile it lost its magic. I've since returned to an Anser-like style because a toe-down putter just works better with a "closing door" kind of stroke.

That you mention your new putter "goes down the line" makes me think you're a "square to square" kind of putter. If so, then your new magic wand is perfect for you.

Now go kill 'em!

I just made the switch from a Ping Zing that I've been using for 18 years to a Yes Victoria 2. The difference in the feel of impact is huge - the face balancing really keeps the putter from wanting to twist upon impact.
