I lost my 9 iron a couple days ago, I currently game titleist 695mbs and I searched ebay and couldn't find a replacement 695mb 9 iron. Thinking about taking my PW and getting it bent from 48 degrees to 45 degrees. 695mb 9 iron has a loft of 44 degrees, bounce is 7, offset is .090", swingweight is D2. 695mb PW has a loft of 48 degrees, bounce is 8, offset is .085", swingweight is D2. I was planning on reshafting my iron set soon, so I figure when I take my irons to get reshafted at my local golfsmith. I'll get my PW bent 3 degrees and put a 9 iron length shaft into the bent PW. Do you guys think there will be a problem in performance or in looks if I do this since between the 9 iron and PW there is barely any difference in offset, bounce and swingweight?
To replace my PW I plan on getting a vokey 48 degree wedge to replace it. Any advice or input would helpful, thanks

The only real issue i'd see with this is having a 9 iron with 5 degrees of bounce instead of 7. To be honest, I can't say one way or another how this would feel, although you may find the playability from the rough or thick lies a bit more difficult. My 9 iron is a scoring club for me, and I need it to be reliable and accurate in distance gaps between the wedge and 8. I'd talk to your club fitter.

The PW has 8 degrees of bounce, not 5.

If you bent a 48/8 PW to 45 degrees, it would have 5 degrees of bounce.

The PW has 8 degrees of bounce, not 5.

He was suggesting that bending it three degrees would decrease the bounce by three degrees as well, making it play with 5 degrees of bounce.

My mistake, forgot to take that into account. I already emailed titleist rep with the same question so i'll update when i hear back from him. Also was thinking about getting a 710mb 9 iron to replace it, if the titleist rep advises me not to do it. good idea or bad? I've hit the 710mb's and they are really forgiving, alot more forgiving than my 695mbs. Talked to a friend and he suggested weakening my 8 iron 2 lofts and strengthening my pw 2 lofts to close the distance gap but I thought that was not a great idea, what do you guys think?

See if you can find a Titleist 735.CM 9-iron as a replacement. The short irons for the set were musclebacks. Here's the specs:
Offset = 0.09" | Bounce = 7º | Loft = 43º | Swingweight = D2.

If you increased the loft to 44º, this would raise bounce to 8º.

Focus, connect and follow through!

That will still affect the bounce of both clubs so you might end up with an 8 iron that has more bounce than your PW

If you like the club, why not? Just a question, even though you can't find a replacement one of ebay, can't you contact Titleist or some golf stores to see if they can replace it? Or did you already contact Titleist to ask whether they can replace it? That's what I would assume you did but your post doesn't make it clear.

The 710 mbs are beautiful clubs. That would be my solution rather than monkeying around with the loft and lie (& length.. eek) of other clubs. As andef said, double check that you can't get a 695 head or full club from titleist.

Titleist said they don't manufacture the clubs anymore for retail, so I'm guessing some tour players still use it. None of the local golf shops carry them either. Yeah it looks as if I'll either have to get a 710mb 9 iron or try to find a 735cm 9 iron. I looked up the lofts, bounce, and swing weight for the 710mb or 735cm and the 735cm is the most similar to the 695mb 9 iron. Thanks for the inputs I'm sure if I took it to golfsmith they wouldn't have told me as much information as you all have. Thanks

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
    • Weaker depth of fields for sure. Some of the top level guys with Jack were pretty awesome. Tom Watson had the lead on the 72nd hole of the 2009 British Open, an event where Tiger missed the cut. Old Tom was almost 60 years old. Jack himself at age 58 finished Top 10 at The 1998 Masters and scored better than Tiger, who won The Masters by 12 shots just a year before that.   The success of both Tom & Jack in older age gives some hope that maybe Tiger can find the magic again at some point. He’s still trying to figure out how to build the stamina for 72 holes after the leg injury. I would love to see him jump on the leaderboard in the coming years. I know a lot of people have given up on him at this point, but that was also true from 2014 to 2017 with the back injuries. He had a hell of a resurgence in 2018 & 2019. Would be fun to see it again.
    • Perceptive rules question by caddie unlocks Tour pro’s ‘dead zone’ relief A perceptive rules question by Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser, unlocked “dead zone” relief during the Wells Fargo Championship.
    • I ran across an interesting new clip, Johnson Wagner went into that spot with the Referee who allowed the relief.  Apparently there was a perfectly reasonable shot to be made, as Johnson clearly demonstrated, so relief from the TIO was perfectly appropriate.
