Nike Juice Marketing: Over the Top?

I've just published a story on the new Nike Juice ball and some have taken issue with the manner in which the ball is being marketed. The "steroid" tie-ins with the name "juice" and the erectile disfunction (i.e. Viagra) tie-ins with the whole "prescription" thing are being flagged, by some, as distasteful or downright shocking.

What's your take? Vote above.

My take? It's fine. It's funny. I think it leans towards poor taste, but it keeps a safe distance away from the line that separates funny from distasteful. I also think the "trajectile disfunction" ads from Callaway Cleveland (remember the guy hitting balls through a tire swing?) were funnier.

I thought it was funny. It would be better yet if they could get Barry Bonds to appear in the commercials.

Ok, its never been "proven" for Bonds, so I'll take Palmerio instead.

the jello mold exploding on their promo site is fantastic.

If these are relatively inexpensive I'd buy them just for a laugh. I'm not sure though how balls made for slow to mid speed swings, react to someone with a fast swing though.

Honestly though, i'm not at the point where I see too much a different between quality of golf balls.

I'm terrible, but i have fun.
