What does the orange dot mean compared to the black dots? or any othe color? my father has an old set that he no longer uses and I am trying to get a price on what they could potentially sell for and learn a little more about them. any additional info is much appreciated!

The "dot" color is representative of the club's lie angle. The cooler colors blues and greens are upright, while the warmer colors; yellow, reds and oranges are degrees flat. Black is a neutral angle.

If I am not mistaken, Orange is 2 degrees flat.

You can use the PGA website to cost them out, it says they are worth an avg of $135.00. I would not let them go for anything less than $200-$225. Some consider those the greatest Ping clubs made until a few of the recent models.

Bigtank is correct . . .when Eye2s were introduced orange code was 2° flat. The color codes remained the same for many years. Recently (2 years ago) Ping changed the color chart by adding another choice (purple) which resulted in a slight change to the lie angles. Orange is now 2.25° flat.

Also, as most know, you can send them back to PING for $35 and they will bend them up to three colors either way and mark them appropriately and ship back to new owner. Just did this on a set of G5's from here. Went from purple to green and LOVE them. Gotta say PING's customer service is TOP NOTCH!!!!!!

In my Nike SasQuatch Staff Bag:

Irons: Ping G5 4-P
Wedges: Vokey Spin Milled 56*, Cleveland bent to 49*

Great to know since I have a black dot 2 iron that I could send back and get to match the rest of the set appropriately! Given that once I do this, I will have the full set 2-SW I think I could probably get a good bit more than the regular 3-PW set.

BEtter luck selling them individually or as a full set?

Ping will not bend the BeCu irons, and many of their older clubs cannot be bent, or they will not bend them. Just an FYI.
